Last month I hosted a hands-on leather care workshop as part of CARETAKERS. A curated format combining exhibition, workshops, and performative actions.
We cleaned, norished and talked about care as something more than maintenance. What you care for, you keep. And what you keep, becomes something else entirely. A beloved object.
Many thanks to everyone who joined and brought their very own beloved pieces. And special thanks to our Hosts @maj_van_der_linden and @johannaperret for initiating this thoughtful Day. It was my pleasure!

@maj_van_der_linden
Join me for a hands-on repair workshop set in the middle of the Caretakers exhibition in Berlin this Sunday. Together, we’ll explore practical techniques for cleaning, nourishing, and protecting leather so it ages with dignity and character. Bring your own leather good and give it a treat with the beautiful care products of @tapir_pflegeprodukte I will also talk about quality and share my deep knowledge about repair. If you have broken leather pieces, bring them, I will advise on repair options. Booking and details via link in bio.

Valentine’s Day traces back to Saint Valentine (3rd century AD). According to legend, he secretly married couples in love – hence the enduring association with love to this day.
Nearly 2,000 years later, Valentine’s Day has blossomed in countless ways, and its economic significance now amounts to 20 to 30 billion US dollars. Whether Valentine would have approved of this development or not – the day is dedicated to love. And love, as the source of our existence, is hardly something one could view negatively.
Ever-present is the color red, which like no other symbolizes love, passion, and energy. Applied to our work, I find that red also reveals its special power in our accessories too.
If you wish to celebrate Valentine for his courage and passion, we recommend four accessories that will accompany your loved one closely, bringing lasting joy and leaving a beautiful memory.
With this in mind, liebe Grüße,
Philipp
Ich mag Dinge,
die man benutzt.
Und die bleiben.
Zusammen mit Philipp Bree @pb0110 ist ein Taschen- und Schlüsselanhänger für Marsano entstanden.
In Ruhe entworfen, sorgfältig gemacht.

I spent 714 days with the first prototype, sharing many wonderful moments and continuously refining the details along the way. I am again and again fascinated by how the natural leather evolves during this journey: gaining character, becoming softer, developing its own unique patina – and turning into a true one-of-a-kind piece.
PB 1 is available in my size and can be customized to your size upon request.

I’m so happy to finally share this with you.
For the first time, our new concept PB 1 allows us to offer MADE TO MEASURE — you define the dimensions, we craft your bag by hand, just for you.

Two years of development — and finally, I am happy to lift the curtain.
In our fast-moving era, I wanted to create a ‚slow‘ product that could stay with you for a very long time — as we hope all our products do. For the first time, I wanted you to be part of the creation: we craft, you shape.
This new concept is for those who value longevity, tactility, and time — a bag that grows in character with each day, far removed from the pace of the fashion industry.
PB 1 is the base.
My aim was simple: to design a large, lightweight bag that adapts to different occasions — and that you can help shape.
We chose a softer, vegetable-tanned leather that develops beautiful character over time and gently conforms to the body. To keep it light, we omitted the lining; the reverse side of the leather is specially treated to remain smooth.
Inside, essential compartments provide structure — a feature many of you requested. Few metal parts keep the bag refined and weightless.
One key detail: the shoulder straps. After many trials, we found a position that allows the upper third of the bag to fold inward when unfilled, naturally concealing the zipper. This transforms the silhouette — unfilled, it feels like a shopper; filled, it becomes a weekender. For the first time, PB 1 allows something truly personal: you define the dimensions — we craft your bag by hand, just for you.

I look forward to your feedback — and to shaping this concept together.
Which size would suit you best?
Kindest,
Philipp Bree

In my career, I have probably developed between 3,000 and 4,000 bags. Again and again, my passion for design, materials, craftsmanship, and creativity is reignited – to create good products for you.
At the moment, however, fashion makes me tired. Whether fast fashion or luxury – everything has to be more and faster, accompanied by an overwhelming flood of communication (into which, all too often, more energy flows than into the product itself). It’s too much for me. Perhaps that sounds a little resigned – and in part, it is. But above all, it’s a motivation to find new answers for you.
On Sunday, we’ll present something truly unique – a concept we’ve been working on for two years. I’m very much looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
Kindest regards, wherever you are,
Philipp Bree

A Masterpiece from 1927 — A Christmas Gift for Generations
Designed by Marcel Breuer in 1927, this chair has lost none of its modernity – to me, it is a true masterpiece, perfectly compatible with any setting.
At @nella.beljan home, it stands next to the bed and is featured as one of the opening images on her Instagram account. She truly lives at the pulse of the times: food, art, culture, design, travel. Her gift is absorbing all of this, distilling it, and communicating it. Endless possibilities unfold before her – and yet a nearly 100-year-old folding chair sits there, quietly and beautifully, by her bedside.
To me, this piece embodies everything that makes a perfect Christmas gift. Orders placed by mid-November will be delivered in time for Christmas.
Feel free to call me personally via DM
Kindest regards,
Philipp Bree
