Happy International Women’s Day!
The day offers a chance to celebrate and highlight the contributions and achievements of women, while also reflecting on what further action needs to be taken to achieve gender parity around the world.
Although there is progress being made, we know that there is much more that we, and the games industry, need to do to improve the representation and experience of women at our studios. We are super proud of the women in the Payload team who make invaluable contributions to our studio and games (some of them are pictured here!).
To celebrate International Women’s Day this year we held a bake sale to raise money for a women focused charity, as well as inviting our Payloaders to share and highlight inspirational women in their lives.
Last week we hosted our first Festival of Food featuring some exciting food and drink made, or suggested by, Payloaders!
The delicious spread included:
⭐Char Siu Sou (Chinese honey roast pork pastry)
⭐Boiled Peanuts (made with Hawaiian red salt and spices)
⭐Lamingtons (Australian sponge dessert), ANZAC Biscuits and Vegemite on Toast
⭐Ube Puto (Filipino steamed rice cake) and Ube Pandesal with Ube Halaya (Filipino bread rolls with a jam like filling)
⭐Fruitcake made with Northubrian mead (from Lindisfarne on Holy Island)
⭐Home Brewed Pale Ale
⭐Lithuanian Kvass (non-alcoholic drink)
⭐ And lots more!
A huge thanks to everyone who made/baked a dish or bought something along. It was a great chance to try some tasty treats and learn about food and drink from around the world.
Last week, TerraTech turned 8 years old! 🎉
It was a great excuse for a mini social with some delicious birthday cake and TerraTech themed cocktails (including non-alcoholic options). Here's to another great year for TerraTech!🎂
