What an amazing two day, back to back Mobile Veterinary Clinic in Connecticut this Friday and Saturday! 🐾
This marked the very first launch of the Paws of War Mobile Veterinary Clinic into Connecticut, and we are incredibly proud to continue expanding this mission to serve even more veterans, active military members, and their beloved pets. Many more clinics to come!
A huge thank you to Veterans Rally Point for partnering with us and helping make this clinic possible for the local veteran community. Special thank you to Ryan Landry and Lori Marriott of Veterans Rally Point for their support, coordination, and dedication to our nation’s heroes.
We are also deeply grateful for the continued support of the Millstein Veterinary Project® grant from The Irving and Phyllis Millstein Foundation for Animal Welfare, whose generosity helps us continue providing critical veterinary care to our nation’s heroes and the animals they love.
Thank you as well to Webster Bank for their generous contribution in support of this mission.
A very special thank you to Dr. Corbelli, Dr. Petrario, the veterinary staff, and all of the volunteers who dedicated their time, compassion, and expertise throughout both clinic days.
And thank you to our incredible Paws of War team members and volunteers, including Sage, Kellei, Derek and Hope, for all of the hard work, organization, and heart they brought to this mission.
Together, we are helping both ends of the leash. ❤️

Paws of War Documentary Series: Part 3 🇺🇸🐾
In Part 3 of our documentary series featuring U.S. Army Veteran Mario Ruffolo and his Paws of War service dog, Sarge, Mario shares how Paws of War became part of his healing journey.
Mario was introduced to U.S. Marine Veteran and Paws of War Veteran Advocate Michael Kilano, who then introduced him to Sarge, the service dog who would soon become his constant companion and partner in healing.
But recovery is never a straight line.
After another difficult setback, when Sarge was bitten by another dog while out in public, Mario’s healing process was shaken once again. Paws of War immediately stepped in, sending trainers directly to Mario’s home to help continue Sarge’s training and strengthen the bond between them so they could keep moving forward together.
Healing takes support. Patience. Trust. And sometimes, someone willing to stand beside you through the setbacks, too.
This is why we do what we do.
Stay tuned tomorrow for the conclusion of Mario and Sarge’s story in Part 4.

❤️ Meet veterans, service dogs, and the Paws of War team
Bring the whole family and help support veterans, first responders, and animals in need through the mission of Paws of War.
U.S. Air Force Captain Lyn's first deployment was to the Middle East a few months before the war started with Iran. The pace of work was fast, the hours long, and the stress and effects of being away from home weighed heavily. A tiny sick kitten made each day a little softer.
The Captain received immediate orders to report to duty for medical escort of a wounded soldier; providing critical care on a long and complicated multi-day flight back to the USA. She had no idea if she would ever be able to return or see Snikkers again.
Born alone in a place where unwanted cats struggle just to survive, Snikkers never stood a chance on her own. Small and fighting to live from the very beginning, her future overseas was uncertain.
“She’s my little fluffy ball of joy,” Captain Lyn shared. “She’s not just a cat found overseas. She’s family.”
Back home in the United States, Captain Lyn’s husband, a firefighter and paramedic, has already fallen in love with the tiny kitten who helped his wife through some of the hardest moments of deployment.
Now, Captain Lyn has reached out to Paws of War for help bringing Snikkers safely to the United States, so she never has to suffer or fight to survive again.
Please help us keep that promise to Snikkers. Because after everything she has endured, she deserves the chance to finally know safety, love, and home. 🐾

These RIDGLAN Farms beagles had only ever known the company of other beagles in the conditions they came from… until now. ❤️🐾
For the first time, this sweet beagle is experiencing the world as it truly should be. Safety, play, kindness, comfort, and friendship.
When he arrived at one of our amazing Paws of War foster homes, he was met by their playful pup, who welcomed him with excitement, curious jumps, and the simple invitation to just be a dog.
At first, he didn’t quite know what to make of it all.
And now? They’re besties.
Watching these beagles discover friendship, play, soft beds, grassy yards, loving homes, and the simple joys of life has been incredibly emotional for all of us at Paws of War.
We are so grateful to be playing a small role in this mission and to have been able to receive 10 beagles to help them begin brand new lives. Lives where they can one day go on to love our nation’s heroes as much as we do.
Please help us continue caring for the beagles currently in our care and finding them the loving futures they deserve.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. 🇺🇸
These heroes dedicated their lives to protecting others, standing between danger and the communities they served. Their courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
At Paws of War, we are deeply honored to serve so many members of the law enforcement community. Supporting those who spend their lives protecting others is a responsibility we carry with immense pride.
Today, we remember the fallen, stand beside their families, and thank every officer who continues to serve with courage and commitment.
We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.

Paws of War Documentary Series: Part 2 🇺🇸
In our documentary series featuring U.S. Army Veteran Mario Ruffolo and his Paws of War service dog, Sarge, Mario opens up about the survivor’s guilt that so many veterans silently carry.
“Why them and not me?”
After losing fellow soldiers in Iraq, that question stayed with him long after he returned home. The weight of grief, trauma, and guilt led Mario down a dark path of experimenting with drugs he says he never would have touched before his military service.
These are the invisible wounds of war.
Through Mario’s courage in sharing his story, we hope to help others better understand the struggles many veterans face after coming home and why support systems, compassion, and organizations like Paws of War matter so deeply.
Please watch, share, and help us continue being there for our nation’s heroes.
Stay tuned tomorrow for Part 3.

Watch this powerful 4 part Paws of War documentary series featuring U.S. Army Veteran Mario Ruffolo and his Paws of War service dog, Sarge.
Mario served our country for 11 years. On just his 5th day in Iraq, he lost 8 fellow soldiers. After being injured in combat and enduring multiple surgeries, he later found himself battling addiction while trying to cope with the physical and emotional wounds of war.
His story is raw, heartbreaking, and deeply personal.
Through this series, Mario opens up about the realities many veterans carry long after coming home; the loss, the trauma, the pain, and the fight to keep moving forward.
This is why Paws of War works every day to support our nation’s heroes through the healing power of rescue animals and service dogs like Sarge.
You need to hear this story.
Please watch, share, and help us continue being there for veterans who need hope, healing, and support.

Watch the moment a Ridglan beagle experiences the comfort of a bed for the very first time.... 💙🐾
Charlie is one of the beagles that came into our care after Paws of War stepped in to help some of the dogs connected to Ridglan.
Now, in the home of one of our incredible Paws of War fosters, you can see him slowly resting his head and allowing himself to finally get comfortable enough to sleep peacefully.
It’s such a quiet moment, but to us, it means everything.
We are simply grateful to play even a small part in helping dogs like Charlie begin a new chapter filled with safety, kindness, and compassion. Every single dog matters. Every life counts. And seeing one dog impacted so deeply reminds us exactly why this mission is so important.
As we continue serving each and every dog with dignity and grace, we ask for your support to help us continue this mission and help animals in need.
