Same espresso, different form.
With Cinco de Mayo on our mind, we wanted to slow down and experiment with flavors that felt layered, warm, and a little unexpected.
An aerocano with cacao, ice, and a homemade chili-salt blend made from chili powder, salt, sugar, and smoked paprika.
The cacao brought the depth.
The chili brought a little heat.
The salt made everything sharper.
And the aeration changed the whole texture.
Not a recipe as much as a reminder: sometimes changing how something comes together changes how you experience it.
Ingredients: espresso, cacao, ice, chili powder, salt, sugar, and smoked paprika.

Making coffee should be treated as a reset, not a rush. Unboxing the @pausewithande kit and taking it back to the basics of manually tamping was incredibly refreshing. Feeling the grounds compress is a feeling a truly missed! Pulled some of the smoothest shots I’ve seen in a long time with this tamper!

I grew up around coffee in Honduras. It was never something you tried to perfect. It was just there… part of the day, morning or night, shared with others.
@perquinjc and its Café Tashru feel familiar in that way. Not because they’re the same, but because they bring me back to that feeling. Having my cafecito con pan at the kitchen table with Mami Nena (that's what I called my abuela).
I continue to learn why it's so important to me to slow down with coffee now 🤍☕
