For
@museumaandea , âWriting Historyâ was developed: an autonomous art installation in which an industrial robot arm literally writes, and then erases, history within a glass display.
The installation makes visible how the present constantly becomes the past. What appears on the glass can disappear again within seconds. In this way, a continuous movement emerges, showing that history is not static but constantly being recreated.
The robot arm is programmed to operate completely autonomously. It writes with a marker, erases with a sponge, and draws its content from an extensive database of historical facts from Groningen and illustrations. In addition, it incorporates real-time data such as water levels, traffic flows, and weather conditions. This ensures that the installation remains continually up-to-date and ever-changing.
