Yesterday we were forced to say goodbye to my special puppy Duke.đ
Unfortunately his body decided it was time and we did everything we could to see what could be made of the situation. Unfortunately, we could not save him.
Duke was the best boy, loved walks truck drives, swimming, chasing squirrels, and playing with his sister Josie when ever they could. He was brought home by EO as a recent hit by car from work, He recently needed immediate surgery to amputate his right arm due to the severity of the accident. His parents would not be able to afford the surgery so we made the choice to do so, and So our adventure started. đ
Many struggles came up for little dukie, from relearning how to walk to relearning how to pee and poop without falling over (I would brace him up many times from here until he gets the balance) Ghost pains from the amputation would show up at night, I would wake to hear him moaning and howling, so I would go sit with him, his head on my lap and soothing pets to help comfort and ease his pain.
Soon after, many awesome trips came for this young pup, from going to Tahoe, Oregon, downieville, Yosemite and countless other fun spots to sniff and swim. Truck drives were super fun and he could barely hold his composure as every possible destination was where he would hope to go.â¤ď¸
His kind demeanor and happy face would attract any and all of the dog lovers out there, complimenting him on how strong he was and how he wasnât showing to be affected by his ailment. Duke was the dog of dogs.
So now we say goodbye one last time. Your struggles are done. Your body can rest and your mind can be at ease.
We love you very much, my strong little puppyâ¤ď¸
Thankyou for giving me the time we had to be together.
You will be extremely missedâŚâŚ..đ
