Really pleased to be showing 2 of my prints in this lovely exhibition organised by @milltown_arts which is showing at Hebden Bridge Town Hall. Well worth a visit and there’s a great cafe there too! Thanks to Phil, Francis and Lucy for inviting me to take part and for curating a varied exhibition by such a range of talented artists.

Patrick was born in Bradford in 1957 where he spent his formative years. He trained at Lincoln College of Art and Norwich School of Art where he gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. He specialised in printmaking acquiring the skills of etching and lithography and in recent years has extended his knowledge and skills by exploring other printmaking techniques including mezzotints, solar etching, collagraphs, lino-cuts and gelli printing. Patrick says that printmaking methods fascinate him due to the versatility and endless possibilities that can be achieved through the various techniques. Each method has its own peculiar attributes and qualities. He enjoys the element of surprise and wonderment when a plate is inked up and printed.
The majority of his work is figurative and representational with subject matter including people, landscapes and, in particular, architecture. The composition of a picture is important to him as well as the effect of light and dark. His work is inspired by experiences gained through travel and he has a strong interest in different cultures. His recent prints are inspired by the architecture of the Canary Islands following a walking holiday there in January and February of this year. The prints incorporate the use of tetrapak, drypoint and collagraphs.
Up until this summer (2025) he owned and managed The Apothecary Gallery in Thornton. Having recently moved he now works form his printmaking studio in his home at Utley near Keighley.
@patrickwhitehead57 will be joining us this weekend 18/19 October at @hebdentownhall 10-5 and TONIGHT 17 October 6-8pm
