Sharing Our Voices to Heal 2026 đ¤đ¸
I feel so blessed to have shared space with so many incredible individuals. Their wisdom, heart, and passion left a lasting impact on everyone in the room.
If you are experiencing grief, loss, or walking through a healing journey, I highly encourage you to look within your community for gatherings like these. Together, we are always stronger. đŤśđť

âSometimes the most powerful healing comes in moments of shared laughter.â
A couple of weeks ago, I had the honour of co-emceeing my first conference. This three-day gathering was incredibly powerful, filled with speakers sharing stories of strength, resilience, and healing.
Through this event, I found myself reflecting deeply and even shared part of my own story about the loss of my mom.
I am truly so honoured to have been part of such a beautiful event. So many laughs, tears, and powerful moments were shared.
Thank you to the Prince Albert Indian & MĂŠtis Friendship Centre for all the hard work that went into organizing this event. A special thank you to Jennifer Sanderson and @nicolelona for putting so much care and dedication into bringing this gathering to life.
And thank you to my amazing fellow emcee, @dakotahenryjack . Your talent is truly a privilege to learn from.
Iâll be sharing a video documenting this beautiful event soon.đŤśđť

One of the coolest experiences yet. A while back I was gifted the opportunity to try Menâs Fancy Dance. One of the contemporary styles Iâve always enjoyed watching when spending time with my Indigenous relations at pow wows, or specific events. I also got to rock in a Fancy Dancer Champions Regalia (outfit) @patrickmitsuing My buddy @notoriouscree was there to hype me up. So of course I felt I needed to dance as best I could honouring the movements, steps, and directions of the dance while still incorporating some âb-boyingâ. Such an intense feeling dancing to the beat of the drum - a beat where the thoughts of many of the Indigenous Youth Iâve crossed path with I was conscious of them as I was dancing. As someone who is indigenous from waters outside of Turtle Island /North America I cannot help but feel the love, and support that people were expressing while pre, present, and post dance especially from other dancers, elders, and my friends at the venue. I always knew dance was healing, and from many of the other teachings that we dance to heal, for those who are no longer here, or sick this one was for you. It was an intense experience, that left me feeling full, and inspired.
Maybe this can be a style I pursue, and of course Iâd want to honour and go through the channels for protocol if I ever do commit. I LOVE to move, and this was beyond what I could of comprehending before actually doing it. I definitely felt free, maybe a little bit Cree but my Filipino brown skin was shining in this regalia!!

A travellerâs guide to learning through Indigenous tourism experiences in Alberta.
With Orange Shift Day approaching on September 30th, itâs a time to reflect on how you can be a better traveller and ally. This guide highlights 8 incredible Indigenous-led experiences across Alberta, each one offering a chance to learn, connect, and deepen your understanding of the cultures and stories that have shaped this land for generations.
We invite you to save and share this guide with your family and friends, not just this week, but all year-around.
Most importantly, we invite you to book and visit these Indigenous experiences, because reconciliation begins with truth, and the most meaningful way to honour that truth is to show up, listen and learn.

Evie has been asking to dance boys fancy bustle over the past while and the stars aligned for her when a set became available from one of the broâs! She spent the day dancing and practicing with the new gear so we will give her that opportunity to try something new while still dancing old style jingle!
Thanks to @patrickmitsuing for making this a reality for our sweet girl!
To wrap up this journey, I want to take you home.
Welcome to Loon Lake, Saskatchewan and Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nationâthe land that raised me.
â¨This is where I spent countless summer days swimming, playing, and laughing with family and friends. These lakes arenât just beautifulâthey hold memories, stories, and spirit. We made a stop at one of my all-time favourite spots, the Dairy Bar, for some good eats and even better nostalgia.
Then we visited Steele Narrows, a place of deep history. Itâs where we teach our kids, share our truths, and honour our ancestors. I dropped tobacco todayâjust as my parents taught meâto give thanks and remember those who came before.
Whether youâre here to camp, hike, swim, take out the boat, or play a round of golfâthis land has a way of helping you slow down, reflect, and reconnect.
Thank you for following along during my Saskatchewanderer takeover. Itâs been an honour to share my journey, my culture, and my home with you.

Lately, Iâve been getting a lot of questions about powwowâwhat it is, how to attend, and what it means. So today, I want to share something special with you.
I recently visited the Onion Lake Powwow, one of the most powerful and beautiful gatherings of culture, community, and tradition youâll ever witness. And in this video, I go a little deeperâanswering the biggest questions Iâve been getting about powwow:
⨠𪜠Who can attend?⨠𪜠What do the dances mean? ⨠𪜠How do you respectfully take part?
Whether itâs your first powwow or your fiftieth, thereâs always something to learnâand something that will move you.
đ Mark your calendar: Onion Lake Powwow returns this summer, July 18â20, 2025. Youâll want to experience it for yourself.
Come with an open heart. Come ready to feel the drum.

Some days, you just need to slow down and take it all in.
I started my day at King Hill Lookout in North Battlefordâstanding above the city with the North Saskatchewan River winding through the land below. Itâs the kind of place that gives you space to breathe, reflect, and just be.
Then I made my way down to the riverbank to think about the things Iâm grateful forâmy family, my culture, and the chance to explore places like this and share them with all of you.
But the day doesnât stop there. Just a short drive away is Eastonâs Placeâa local gem built for families and fun. Youâll find:
⨠đ Outdoor volleyball courts ⨠đ A bannock burger & fries worth driving for⨠đď¸ââď¸ A relaxing driving range⨠đŚ And some of the best ice cream creations around
North Battleford has a way of balancing peace and play. If youâre looking for a quick adventure that feeds your spirit and your appetite, this is it.

Come with me to a Powwow â one of the most vibrant cultural experiences in all of Saskatchewan.
Powwow is more than just dancing and drummingâitâs a celebration of Indigenous identity, resilience, and joy. Here in Saskatchewan, powwow culture is alive and thriving in nearly every corner of the province all summer long.
This weekend, I joined dancers and singers in Saskatoon to witness the beauty, athleticism, and spirit of powwow firsthandâand let me tell you, thereâs nothing like hearing that first heartbeat of the drum.
𪜠If youâve never been to a powwow before, this is your sign.
Mark your calendar for the Dakota Dunes Powwow happening at the SaskTel Centre, August 30âSeptember 1. Youâll see the best dancers from across North America, experience the songs, and taste the food (yes, definitely try the bannock tacos).
Letâs wander togetherâand take part in something powerful.
