I’ve been on countless camps on this windy island over the years, but I’ve never actually raced there.
It’s going to be a tough day out there, but that’s exactly what makes this race so legendary. I’m excited to be back.
The main goal is to secure my Kona qualification, which is anything but guaranteed. I’ll give it everything I’ve got. 💪

Almost a week and some time to reflect on everything that happened at Ironman Texas.
First of all, my back is doing fine again, even if a 15-hour travel day didn’t really help. Thank you for all the kind and motivating messages. I truly appreciate every single one of you who reached out.
A bad day doesn’t define me or what I’ve achieved over the years. I’m genuinely happy with the build-up we had. Proud of my team and the work we put in, even if we didn’t get the result we were aiming for. There’s no regret in giving it everything out there, and that’s exactly what I did.
Now it’s time to regroup, reset, and come back with a new plan to secure the Kona slot. And yes… for those asking: the 5-year exemption is gone. I’ll have to qualify the same way as everyone else. And honestly, that’s perfectly fine. I’m ready to earn it.
Onwards and upwards.

Yesterday was one of the toughest days for me at Ironman Texas. DNF
The preparation went exactly according to plan and I felt ready for a strong start to the season at a race that brings back a lot of good memories.
That’s why it’s even harder to accept when your body suddenly doesn’t cooperate on race day.
Now it’s about finding answers, learning from it, and moving forward.
That’s part of this sport. I’ll be back. 💪
