Today marks seven years since the passing of one of my greatest musical inspirations, Roy Hargrove.
About six years ago, I invited a few friends to record a cover of one of my favorite tunes, Top of My Head. At the time, I didn’t realize how much that moment would become a true tribute to Roy and the influence his music had on me.
Since then, my journey as a musician has continued to grow in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I’m grateful to still be here, playing, reflecting, and honoring the artists who’ve shaped my path.
Lately, I’ve been feeling inspired to revisit my project KINSOCO, to dive back into that creative space and continue expressing my own voice while honoring the legacies of the artists who’ve inspired generations.
