Tony and I first started working on this project in his home studio in the Autumn of 2024. Tony helped me to record the initial piano foundation and he helped add other elements including rhythmic elements. There was a certain character to what we recorded that to me sounded a little mechanical and clunky like a wind up grandfather clock ringing out the hour. We sent our tracks to Kirk who kindly helped further the piece in 2025. Kirk really sculpted the piece into its final form and his contributions are truly moving. There’s a sentimental sound to this piece that I can’t escape having received Kirk’s mix around a month after my brother’s passing. I know that Chris would have really enjoyed this project. I can imagine him telling me “good job brother” and feeling and knowing that he meant it. Kirk and Tony kindly allowed me to name this project and to dedicate it in remembrance of my brother. Here’s to more meaningful moments and to not taking anyone for granted. -Patrick
Its has been one week since the goodness of God came to me in the form of a song that four souls recorded for me and my family in honor of my big brother Chris who passed in late December. The song took me by surprise and it was so bittersweet to receive the first message from Distrokid and then from Tony. I continue to be deeply moved by “Where The Lights Rest (For Chris) every time I listen to it and moreover by the kindness of God that I don’t deserve. The Lord knows that I am thankful for you, Tony, Kirk, Simon and Andy. May His peace be upon you and in you, brothers.
