“Lost in the details” could describe the character of the photographs. I spend hours in processing the images and every time I discover another small detail that inspires my imagination about who lived here and how. And also about how time and weather are transforming the building which I could capture and preserve in a certain moment in time.

Upgrading to an @alpacameras system for the work on my series CHALETS OF SWITZERLAND marks an incredible milestone.
Not only the results are from another world in terms of sharpness and detail, allowing me to achieve the new very large printworks of approximately 4x3m.
Also the process of creating with these tools is an extraordinary experience: The precision and smoothness of adjusting every image to perfection with the ALPA tripod head in conjunction with the shifting and stitching of the camera allows for the most accurate and natural photographic workflow.
Even in the most demanding weather conditions that I need for my work this system allows for a calm and precise process.

I am crossing Switzerland from the east to the west, while continuing my series. It is beautiful to experience the different mentalities reflected -not only in the dialects - but also in the style of the local architecture. Like this one in Marbach/LU. 🏘️❄️ I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I do 😌⛄️

After waiting for weeks we finally hit the snow. The gear is packed and I was ready to go. The perfect weather for the long awaited shooting session. Today’s trip brought me up to @stmoritz through @parc_ela where I had a couple buildings on my list. But on my way back I had this little trouvaille in Eschenbach SG in the back of my head. The little detour brought quite a surprise: heavy snowfall and a wonderful setting for this long planned shot. 🌨️🥶

Remember? Berlin. S-Friedrichstrasse, 1994
When @portisheadofficial Album Dummy kicked in and it felt like it was exactly written for Berlin at that time.
Shooting #blackandwhite , #trabbi memories and a generally magic floating mood.

Phone Booth. Paris, 1994
Looking back at the time when we did not all have a phone in our pocket. It still feels so familiar and strange at the same time to see people in those little glass houses talking to their parents, lover, friend, boss?
It definitely has a romantic and nostalgic edge to it like listening to vinyl or shooting analog.

Tomorrow, the reality of 2026 begins. And I am wishing you a good year. Not a “great” one, just an honest one.
A year of introspection, of modesty, of less noise and fewer distractions.
The past years felt like a race. Maybe now, as the dust begins to settle, we can see more clearly. Calmer, more grounded, less driven by fear.
Over the holidays, I revisited old, unseen work from 1994. A time when taking a photograph was a decision, not a reflex. No endless variations, just a contact sheet and a few negatives. A whole year in one folder: its essence, not its dilution.
2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese calendar. A sign of energy, change, and transformation, returning only every 60 years.
By chance – or not – I found these horse photographs from that very time.
I hope they resonate.
And may this Year of the Horse bring us all meaningful change, without haste.

📸✨ Chalet 28 by Patrick Lambertz
Patrick Lambertz works with a precise and observant approach to the alpine environment. His Chalets of Switzerland Series looks at traditional mountain houses without sentiment and without the usual romantic framing. Instead, he presents them as structures standing quietly in winter landscapes, often isolated and reduced to their essential form.
Chalet #28 follows this direction. The building appears almost like a character in its own right, shaped by weather and age, set in a setting that feels still and contemplative. The photograph invites the viewer to look beyond nostalgia and to consider the chalet as a cultural symbol with its own presence and history.
