The Bakashimika International Photography Festival invites photographers and image makers from Southern Africa and the United Kingdom to join a cross continental collaboration. Four participants will be selected for innovative approaches that push the boundaries of the image through experimental processes and mixed media and explore identity, history, and place. Artists will take part in online workshops and curatorial mentorship to develop shared visual narratives before presenting their work in Lusaka during the festival. This programme supports cross-continental collaboration and meaningful dialogue between artists. Participants will take part in virtual sessions from April until June and will attend the Bakashimika Festival in Lusaka in June.
