After 28 years at HGO, today Patrick Summers takes his final bow as Artistic and Music Director! Join us in a round of applause for Maestro Summers as we celebrate his remarkable tenure—419 performances across 87 productions, 13 commercial recordings, 11 world premieres, as well as building the HGO Orchestra into a powerhouse and launching artists into illustrious careers around the globe. Maestro Summers has had an indelible impact on opera in Houston and across the world—“thank you” isn’t enough!
We’re so happy that the music will continue as Summers steps into the role of Music Director Emeritus and holder of the Robert and Jane Cizik Music Director Emeritus Chair next season.
