We are pleased to share the latest progress breakdown for the "U.S. Brig Niagara" refit! We have successfully navigated the most intensive phases of the project. Project Prep, Carpentry (which represents over 60% of the total project scope), Engines & Systems, and Electrical work have all officially hit the 100% completion mark. With our final Close Out work now sitting at an incredible 92% complete, we are preparing for a major milestone: relaunching the ship into the water later this week to begin her sea trials! We are officially on the countdown to return home. We remain on target to depart Bristol Marine's Sample's Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, in early June and arrive in our Erie homeport on July 2, 2026. @eriemaritime98 , #sail, #sailing, #ship, #pennsylvania, #journey,

PHMC recognizes the dedication, commitment & sacrifices made by Pennsylvania nurses. During times of both peace and war, nurses remain vital members of our society. In this State #Archives photo, American Red Cross nurses & a chaplain stand outside an American hospital of the 28th Division. This photo was taken on July 30, 1918 in Chierry, France. #NationalNursesDay, #nursing, #nurse, #medical

2026 marks 150 years since the trial of the Molly Maguires. In response to years of poor working conditions & pay cuts, violence broke out in the coal fields of northeastern Pennsylvania, much of which was attributed to the secret society, the Molly Maguires. Supposed members of the Molly Maguires were brought to trial in 1876. The trials of five men who were accused of killing policeman Benjamin Yost began in early May 1876. All five of these men were later executed by hanging, along with five other Molly Maguires, on what became known as Black Thursday, June 21, 1877. #Archives

On May 2, 1905, the General Assembly created the @pastatepolice , the 1st uniformed state police force of its kind in the nation. Earlier, local sheriffs & constables were charged with keeping the peace. After the events of the Anthracite Strike of 1902, it was clear that the law should be upheld by officers employed by the state. Pictured here is the first Superintendent of the State #Police, Col. John C. Groome. #Archives, #OnThisDay, #law, #lawenforcement, #strike, #coal, #pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Lumber Museum visitors are familiar with this Pennsylvania Treasure. #Ford's Model T proved to be a versatile platform which could easily be modified for a variety of uses. As the Model T was affordable & widely available, it was a popular choice for aftermarket kits. This rig features a 24-inch circular saw blade powered by a 1927 4-cylinder Model T engine & mounted on a Model T chassis. This saw is operational and is occasionally demonstrated at museum events. #PATreasures, #lumber, #industry, @ford
