At the heart of Pathway’s mission is the success and long-term sustainability of the communities we serve, and thriving small businesses are a vital part of that. 💙 While there are many impactful organizations supporting small businesses, we’re proud to provide loans and coaching that allow local businesses to grow and communities to thrive. This week and every week, we celebrate the small businesses that make our communities stronger!

For Small Business Week, we’re highlighting Pet D-tails, a thriving Chattanooga pet grooming business owned by Pathway client Alissa Gonzalez! After launching in 2018, Alissa quickly built a loyal client base and outgrew her original space. With financing from Pathway, she purchased a larger commercial property to support the continued growth of her business, giving Pet D-tails plenty of room for the future!

We’re grateful to WSMV4 for taking the time to speak with Pathway Housing Fund President Matt Wiltshire about our newest acquisition, the Mayflower Apartments. A truly historic and special place, the Mayflower has been home to generations of Nashvillians. We’re honored to carry that legacy forward by preserving it as an affordable place to live for years to come.

Malone Park Commons exemplifies what's possible when strong partnerships and community investments come together. 🏘️🤝 Our Memphis team attended the ribbon cutting of Malone Park Commons, a thoughtfully designed residential community in Uptown Memphis focused on practical, livable homes with durable materials, simple design, and a strong emphasis on comfort, efficiency, and everyday functionality. What makes Malone Park Commons especially compelling is its focus on accessibility and thoughtful design. This isn’t just about development, it’s about creating a space that genuinely serves the community, meets real needs, and contributes to long-term neighborhood vitality. Pathway is committed to making sure opportunities like this are not missed, and we are incredibly grateful to have played a role in this project!

A meaningful milestone for affordable housing in Nashville! 🏠 The Pathway Housing Fund has acquired Mayflower Apartments in Hillsboro Village, our third property, preserving 18 affordable homes in one of the city’s most in-demand neighborhoods. Built in 1920, the Mayflower has long provided below-market housing for working individuals and families. It will continue to serve as an affordable place people can call home for the long term. Preserving housing like this is essential to keeping Nashville accessible as the city continues to grow, and Pathway is working to protect more homes like this across our communities!

Earlier this week our team had a wild time at the Nashville Zoo for our all-staff meeting! 🦏🐾 Our team looks forward to these meetings to celebrate wins, spark new ideas, and strengthen the relationships that power our mission. A stronger team means deeper impact! Between the fun, we focused on what’s next and how we can leverage tools like AI, collaborate more effectively, and keep finding better ways to support the businesses and communities we serve.

Last month, we celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Unique Kids Childcare’s second location in Smyrna! 🎉 Owner Dominique Gill became a Pathway client in March 2025, securing a loan to purchase a building for her second daycare center location. Dominique was referred to Pathway by another client, Katina Henderson, owner of Trinity Way Enrichment Center. After a year of hard work, Unique Kids has officially opened its doors and is already serving 33 children, providing families with affordable, reliable childcare they can count on. We’re proud to support entrepreneurs like Dominique who are making a lasting impact in their communities!

What a great couple of Pathway Connect events this week in Chattanooga and Middle Tennessee! 🌟 We loved bringing together business owners for real conversations, connections and opportunities to learn from one another. There’s nothing better than seeing our clients and community share experiences and support each other’s growth. Thanks to everyone who made these events such a success!

Ann Zack, one of Pathway’s Senior Business Advisors, knows what it’s like to build a business because she’s done it herself. As a former business owner, Ann is passionate about helping entrepreneurs grow with confidence. She understands the challenges, the risks, and the resilience it takes to keep going. As a part of Pathway’s mission, we support the development, growth, and preservation of small businesses by giving them the support that they need along that journey. 🩵
