Bubbles Down Under - 10” X 10” - acrylic on repurposed inkjet canvas - S/N 001: 2026. This is the first piece of 2026 after a long hiatus. This was a small commission for an old friend, surfer and artist in her own right Karlee @artist_mlak . Title was simple she lives, surfs and works in OZ. All the shown wrinkles, dents, bruises and impasto paint are my usual implication’s that it’s hand made. As well as; finding the #wishbone for good luck. Here’s to a new chapter and more work. Thank you @tatiii___velasco for being our courier and support. #goodworkleadstomorework #wishbone #conlonclique
All I can do is laugh - 15” X 13.5” - acrylic on repurposed vynil - S/N 002: 2025. This is the second and final piece of 2025. The year that killed my productivity, but not me. All the shown wrinkles, dents, bruises and impasto paint application are intentional. Scares of life. History. The title spawned from the found piece of vynil and the feelings I’m having going into 2026. The Easter egg of finding the #wishbone for good luck. #fuck2025 #conlonclique
Elephant Ear - 16” X 20”- recycled ink jet print out & acrylic S/N: 001:2025. This piece is a particularly special this being rough year. I wanted to end the year on a high note by completing at least one painting for 2025. I hope you dig it? Late - very late- Christmas present? I’m happy to just be creating and finding a flow state again. Merry Christmas y’all. #conlonclique
STILL LIFE - 16” X 20.5” - acrylic, oil pencil, mix media on reclaimed board. More from the walk down memory lane- ( art from my folks house) This was an early edition of my foray into black and white rendering as my signature. I was still very into “draw painting “ from #kiethharing influence. Very much into surface texture and making negative space interesting. The painted frame idea came from seeing #juianschnabel use painted frames @artbasel I gave this to my mom for Christmas in 1994. Julian used to come to my home in Rockaway to surf and he and my mom would hang. She would call me so thrilled to tell me about his visits. #RIP
DREAMSCAPE - 72” X 48”- “triptych” on reclaimed canvas : Circa: 1991-92 No Serial # - Property of the Conlon estate. I haven’t been able make new work this year due to health reasons. So as I find myself back in my childhood home surrounded by old work I did 25+ years ago I figured I’d share a walk down memory lane. This is one of the first paintings dates back to college when I was broke and couldn’t afford canvas. So I got a fox in the hen house idea to raid the painting studios drying racks after the semester was done to “repurpose” canvas that were left behind. It was usually abandoned sorority girl painting 101 work that would more then likely get tossed. They bought really nice canvas by the way, only to be remember as a “remembered as that time we took a painting class in college Becky” story. At least that’s how I justified any backlash or guilt at the time. This is probably why I am attracted to repurposing vynil today. The overall composition was based on a reoccurring dream or nightmare that I was having at the time of me being on a run away roller coaster that crashes into a brick wall that I’d always survived. My color palate for this piece was black and white because the belief was that people dreamt in black and white. This color theory has carried thru until today. Simple and direct. In these early years I was working with the idea of multiplicity, positioning things and objects that wouldn’t necessarily make sense together. A type of surrealism I suppose. I was also grappling with “draw painting” because I knew I could draw but didn’t think I could paint in the traditional sense. I was heavily influenced by #kiethharing and #jeanmichelbasquiat growing up in New York. You can see it in how I was using vailing, imposto, and letting drips happen to give it a painting feel. This is still one of my favorite paintings because it uses all of the ideas in one piece. #usc
Frayed Not - 14” X 14” , repurposed on @disneylittlemermaid canvas acrylic on wood- S/N : 2025: 003 This piece was a long time in the making - health issues prevailing lately. Interestingly enough I forced myself to finish today with our world upside down and becoming unraveled. Hence the title. #recycle #conlonclique
Picking up the plastic pieces - 12” X 12” - mixed media, acrylic, wood, found plastic beach toys - S/N 2025; 002. Well 2025 has dealt me an interesting hand so far. I made this piece thru being exhausted and excruciating headaches. I’ve been picking up the pieces since the beginning of the year. Hence the title. I went back to my roots and some of the things @tomsachs taught me glue drips, subtle fuck ups and using what’s in front of you is what makes it “art” ( I included images of this example ) #beachtoys #plasticpollution #conlonclique @just_me_king
We lost my mom, “Mrs. C” - “Betty” Conlon on Sunday. She collapsed and was found by my Dad. I immediately flew back and we’ve been silently grieving together this week as the emotions wash over us both and they can hit in sneaky unexpected waves. She traveled the world as a TWA flight attendant and instilled my wanderlust along with curiosity of the world. One the fondest memories was she’d fly back with baguettes and croissants from Paris - my friend Matty O came over today with a baguette and those memories. She was mother to many of characters who passed thru and stayed in the Rockaway clown car. Artists, musicians, actors, surfers all made the Bouillabaisse of cultures. She touched many and hopefully you got a glimpse of it. Although a pain in the ass at times she was still my mom and will be miss. No one misses her more then my dad who lost the love his life. My goal is to keep him going. I felt weird even posting, but as my friend Paul put it, it’s like “digital shiva” everyone can pay their respects. #conlonclique
The Pursuit of Happiness - 24” X 24” - acrylic on repurposed vinyl. S/N: 2025:001. Ive been listening to @eckharttolle searching for some insight and happiness - hence the title. As always It has a hidden #wishbone for good luck
Monstera Bubbles - 43” X 35” - acrylic on repurposed canvas print. S/N:2024: 006 I unearthed the background material dumpster diving @15l40 It revealed “monstera leaf” which is the emblem of abundance, growth and new beginnings. Know as the “Plant of the Gods”it is a representation of hidden secrets, inner strength & a quest for knowledge and enlightenment. This piece packs an interesting amount of sentiment and feeling thru symbolism. I noticed a faint reference to a Sol LeWitt piece (pictured). As always there’s a hidden wishbone for good luck. #monstera #luck #bubbles #sollewitt
INSOMNIAC - (circle of life)- 32”X 44” - acrylic, @krinknyc pen on reappropriated @insomniacconcerts vynil consisting of flyers past the events. S/N :2004:006. I swiped this vynil when working #Insomniac events. The irony is my fiance @just_me_king and her best friend, Shortee used to go to these raves and recognized the individual flyers that they went to. Built in personal history. It was a no brainier that Shortee @morebubblesforlesstroubles added it to her wall. I mopped on the paint on the surface to give texture, history, and the feeling of a painting as a juxtaposition to computer generated art. As always I’ve included a hidden #wishbone #conlonclique
HUMMING BIRD - 14” X 14” - acrylic, @krinknyc pen on waxed recycled promotional canvas from the J. Lo movie “This Is Me” S/N 2024:005 This as mentioned was a promotional piece of material from “This Is Me” movie. I chose humming bird because It stands for intelligence, beauty, devotion, and love. These little birds are also respected as fierce fighters and defenders of their territory. Hummingbirds are a symbol of good luck. Speaking of luck. There is a hidden #wishbome for luck on the surface. It’s going to a woman of confidence & strength: @jillcrowner #conlonclique *note : This piece has been retitled from “Blue Jay” I’m noting I’m not an Ornithologists and got it wrong. The sentiment and meaning is still there. Thx @rockmadeshae
