It was total dream come true to be played on @jarvisbransoncocker@bbc6music Someday Service. Track ‘Late Last Night’ from my album Baroque Era. Thank you so much - and thank you also to Matty Wall and @patchworkslabel for their incredible support.
The new album “Functional Language for Underlying Structure” is out today.
I’m also very happy to share the first ever FROST t-shirt! Head over to Bandcamp to check it all out.
Huge thanks to @eveymusic and @patchworkslabel for putting it out, to @_liz_wilson_ for the incredible artwork, as always. And to @veritysusman@thomasstonemusic and @bentogm for playing with me on this record. I’ve wanted to bring musical collaborators into my work for a long time and these three smashed it out of the park in the most perfect way!
This Friday we are very excited to be releasing Frost's 'Functional Language for Underlying Structure'. Do check it out on our bandcamp (link in bio), available on CD, Cassette and Digital.
A prominent figure on the South East coast experimental/electronic scene, Dale Frost has also performed live alongside Talvin Singh, The Field and Memorials, as well as collaborations with electronic musicians Gold Panda and planet Mu’s Xylitol, avant-garde turntablist Furrowed and noise/spoken word collective Benefits.
The album features Verity Susman from Electralane, who also leant her tenor sax skills to Beatrice Dillon on Workaround, a favorite record of mine and whose minimal off kilter rhythms are a convenient reference point for Frost’s album. The album is both very electronic and full of restless organic excitement, brought to life by Dale’s unconventional drum style, as well as Verity’s sax, guitar from Ben Garnett and contrabassoon from Thomas Stone.
Frost’s incendiary live shows are also well worth catching if you get a chance, featuring both his frenetic drumming and his synced up lighting rig to awesome effect.
