🎼 Virtual String Instrument Controller This interactive MIDI controller uses real-time hand tracking in TouchDesigner to simulate the plucking of virtual strings. When a finger performs a strumming or plucking gesture in mid-air, a trigger signal is generated and sent via OSC to VCV Rack, where Mutable Instruments Rings generates the sound. For hand tracking, I used the MediaPipe plugin by @blankensmithing . The relative motion between finger positions is analyzed to detect pluck intensity, while horizontal position maps to pitch or note selection. PacSci is hosting our label @restlessplanet_ tomorrow, it’s such a cool opportunity and I hope many of you are able to join us in this unique setting!
