🎨👜 What a way to celebrate one year of Espacio de Culturas! Our Fridays on the Patio tote bag painting workshop with CAZORLA + SALEME was filled with lots of color, creativity, and community. Each bag told its own story, from bold designs to personal touches, and we loved seeing everyone make the space their own.✨ Thank you to all who came out to paint, snack, celebrate! See you at our next FOTP! 📸: @jasmineesqui

🗣 This year’s Newark Artist Accelerator grant provided funding for nine creative, community-centered projects by Newark-based, multidisciplinary visual artists. ✨ GRANT HIGHLIGHT | CAZORLA + SALEME (@threadingtrends ) (@patcazorla ) | “Streets of Newark”: The Book ➡️ “Street of Newark” is an artist’s book that traces the transformation of Downtown Newark over the past decade through intimate acts of walking, looking, and belonging, beginning with a winter arrival in 2011. Blending archival and contemporary images, conversations with key community members, and contributions from local artists through art and poetry, the book weaves together past and present as a visual testimony to Newark’s evolving identity. 🔹This year’s fund is made possible by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program @warholfoundation  💫 Learn more at newarkartistaccelerator.org #newarkartistaccelerator #projectforemptyspace #warholfoundation

Join us for Art in DUMBO: First Thursday Gallery Walk! 📍 Adams Street Public Library 📬 9 Adams Street, Brooklyn 🕕 6–8 PM The pieces in the exhibition are conceived after long walks through the Brooklyn Bridge Park. It is a combination of photography, with slight digital alterations, and digital painting. The large pieces are (48 x 36 inches), printed in Dibond and Sintra, all archival and mounted on French cleats. There is a mini installation, very dear to us, composed of 35 prints on individual wooden panels of 5 x 5 inches, painted by hand along their borders. The color palette is carefully chosen to reflect the four seasons, starting with Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. All the works are available for sale individually, including the multi-panelled installation of 5 x 5 mini-prints. We will have a limited edition of photographs (8 x 10 inches) on-site this Thursday. We hope to see you there!

In 2010, while at the Elizabeth Foundation of the Arts, working on DeFence. We had the pleasure of meeting an incredible gentleman who has since been our friend and a loyal supporter of our work. We are grateful to you, Jerry, for giving us the chance to dream and to open the heart of this city we love so deeply and call home. CONGRATULATIONS, Jerry, on this recognition, and we are grateful for your unconditional love for the Garment District and for preserving the arts. #garmentdistrictnyc

One of the things that has brought me joy at work this year has been facilitating more artist-led programs. @patcazorla and @threadingtrends , the artists of the niece-aunt duo Cazorla+ Saleme will be leading a tote bag making workshop! Their work can be seen inside and outside of the Newark Public Library (slides 1 and 2) and around NYC. 🍂Friday, November 21st, 6PM-9PM. They will also be raffling off limited-edition NMOA totes! (slide 3) 🍂This workshop is free with admission, all-ages, and all materials will be provided. 🍂Registration required: /event/fall-is-falling-with-cazorla-salemes-tote-bag-painting-workshop/ Hope to see you there! 💜
