Pass the Bricks

@passthebricks

We believe every kid has the right to play. This project collects used LEGO bricks and repackages them into “new” sets for kids who don’t have access.

We are so happy to see our ambassador Devin doing such nice work in his community. When he was in the hospital for almost a year after a devastating knee injury, he rediscovered the comfort that working with LEGO can provide. Now that he’s back on his feet, he’s sharing his love for LEGO with other kids in the hospital. Thanks for being a real one, Devin! (Link in bio)

Please say hello to Matthew and his wife Ashley, two PTB ambassadors in Denver who we are so grateful for. They are single-handedly donating hundreds of sets in their community, but their greatest ongoing rebuild is of themselves, and they are winning. Truly one of our favorite PTB stories so far. Please take a few minutes to watch their incredibly inspiring interview which is linked in our bio!

Hey PTB community! We are so happy to see the bricks we sent to Scoala Gimnaziala “Învățător Miu Stana”, comuna Brazi, a school in Romania, being enjoyed by the students. Specifically, teachers have been using the bricks to help students express their feelings, needs and perspectives. It is amazing to see each and every students unique builds, and the stories that come with them. There is no limit in what we can all build with LEGO, including confidence, empathy and peace. Keep building!!!

A long overdue shout-out to Melissa, one of our ambassadors in Buffalo Grove, IL, for supplying LEGO bricks to Youth for a Better Future. YBF is a Chicago-based organization that uses STEAM programs "to nurture a vibrant and collaborative community that empowers our youth and their families through educational and community engaging initiatives." We are so proud to partner with organizations like YBF and Kevin Tate who is their Program Specialist. More bricks coming your way soon, Kevin. Thank you for what you're doing for the kids of Chicago. By doing so, you are making a difference everywhere! (www./)

Meet the CookieBots! They are an all-Girl Scout, FIRST LEGO League (FLL) robotics team from the East Bay here in Northern California. We were honored to help them out with some bricks for their spring competitions, including the upcoming District Championship which they qualified for recently (and won Best Robot Design in the process!). If you want to follow the CookieBots’ progress, they have a FB page where you will see lots of good stuff. Good luck and have fun, CookieBots! (10/10 for that name and logo)

We are so happy to help these amazing kids in Uganda experience the joy of LEGO for the first time. This was possible with the help of Deacon John J.B. Silvia, Jr. and Father Robert Baluku. We were able to send them bricks through tax-deductible donations on our website (passthebricks.org) which we are incredibly grateful for. Thank you so much!

Hi everyone! We wanted to highlight the awesome work that our Aurora, IL ambassador is doing with their nonprofit partner, Community Access Naperville (CAN). CAN supports individuals with mental and physical disabilities, and these amazing people have chosen Pass the Bricks their service project. They have given so much of their time to help clean, sort and make sets to donate. We are so proud and grateful to have them on our team! Pass the Bricks is a certified 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, so if any of you out there are looking for a way to give back to your communities, we would love to have you on board!

I'm so excited to share some photos of these great kids in Micronesia enjoying our donation of LEGO bricks! According to their teacher, many of them had never played with LEGO before, so the teachers extended recess to let them keep building. Helping to create access to LEGO is what Pass the Bricks is all about. And being able to share that joy with kids near and far is only possible through donations, so thank you so much to those who have donated to our Gofundme which is linked in our bio. We really appreciate it. Thank you so much, and happy building EVERYBODY!!!
