ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: GLENN HOPPER Glenn Hopper was born and raised in the Blue Mountains where he played the piano so much that his mum eventually decided to move it into his bedroom so the rest of the house could get some peace. Glenn learnt to play guitar and sing and write songs through his teen years, then moving to Sydney to study at The Conservatorium and cut his teeth playing with a number of Sydney bands as well as his own project Skinny Legions. Glenn then moved into music production and songwriting for others, sharpening his skills working with dozens of Australian and overseas artists such as Josh Pyke, Kate Miller-Heidke, Jess Mauboy, Mallrat, Kid Cudi & YG to name a few. In 2024 Glenn released his first EP under his own name, ‘Something About the Weather’ and is currently working on a debut album. ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: JULIA CAMILLE Julia Camille is an Eora-based artist who draws listeners in through compelling storytelling and emotive vocal melodies. With radio play nationwide and a growing body of work, Julia’s music has earned attention for its honesty and quiet emotional gravity. Her songs explore connection, memory, and transformation, drawing inspiration from observing the characteristics and evolutionary adaptations seen in nature. Julia uses these reflections as a lens to better understand the human condition. This curiosity and sensitivity helps to inform a captivating sonic world that inhabits the liminal space between fragility and resilience. 🎩PASS PAUSE PLAY #16: I CALL IT MAGIC🎩 Songs are spun with vocabulary and melody as writers navigate imagination and feeling. The resulting weave elicits feelings that transcend these bare components, providing a space for us connect with that magical something. This month’s show will explore what three artists find when they get spinning. PASS PAUSE PLAY #16 will feature: Glenn Hopper, Holy Alice, & Julia Camille. GLENN HOPPER - @glennhopper.com.au Glenn Hopper is a folk-rock singer-songwriter who follows along after the likes of Carol King, Aldous Harding and Nick Drake. Whether performing solo or fronting a red-hot band of Sydney’s finest, his shows are both playful and earnest. Hopper’s songs are open hearted ballads and raucous anthems that emerge in full flight, change shape mid-air, and leave the room victorious. HOLY ALICE - @holyalicemusic Holy Alice is a solo and independent indie/folk artist from the Dharug and Gundungurra Land of the Blue Mountains. Her debut ep ‘holy’ is a testament to her dedication, with delicate production that complements her style, she weaves a rich tapestry of melodies and lyrics set against a backdrop of fingerpicked guitar and ethereal sounds. 🍽️PASS PAUSE PLAY #15: A LITTLE MORE 🍽️ Songs are made by hungry people, chasing words and sounds that capture multitudes. That appetite is often left wanting - craving another verse, a few more ears, or a little more recognition. This month’s show will feature three artists navigating how they fill their plate. PASS PAUSE PLAY #15 will feature: Isobel Knight, Nead Next Door, and Julia Johnson. ISOBEL KNIGHT - @knightizz Isobel Knight writes and plays songs where the venn diagram circles of Julia Jacklin and Bruce Springsteen cross over. Her versatile voice, soul-folk melodies and lyricism have carried her music into hearts and charts. Armed with her acoustic guitar and a story-telling instinct, she’s a folk singer with an old soul and a quick sense of humour. NEAD NEXT DOOR - @neadnextdoor Nead Cristaudo is a proudly queer, non-binary creative, originally from the tropics of Mamu country, now living and making on Gadigal Land. They are a writer, performer and vocal coach, who is very passionate about making new Australian work. Whether that be developing new musicals or writing and performing under their stage name, Néad Next Door. Néad loves to be constantly fusing together their love of musical theatre, pop and folk music to share all their big feelings on stage. JULIA JOHNSON - @juliajohnsonmusic Julia Johnson is an Australian singer, songwriter producer and multi instrumentalist. Born in Canberra, she currently lives in Sydney. Her voice has been compared to Florence Welch, Joni Mitchell and even a ‘treacherous mountain river’. Johnson’s songs evoke striking echoes of love and loss, at once ruthlessly intimate, and universal. On stage, Johnson’s warm presence and unpredictable banter usher you in to her folk-tinged musical universe, where she brandishes antique folk instruments with exceptional and unusual technique. 🍽️PASS PAUSE PLAY #15: A LITTLE MORE 🍽️ ⏭️⏸️▶️ Songs + Stories in Sydney Tuesday 7th April - 6:30pm 189B Saint Johns Road, Forest Lodge Tix via link in bio 🔗

🗺️ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: NICK WINTERS🗺️ Nick Winters is a 20 year old songwriter who’s spent most of his time writing and creating alone without much sharing - he’s looking to change that. Nick’s 2025 single ‘Disembodied’ draws on the wistful folk stylings of Elliot Smith, Sufjan Stevens and Jeff tweedy. Nick writes: “I didn’t grow up surrounded by or really listening to much music at all, this means that a lot of my music discovery has been self-led, and took place mostly on the internet.” Catch Nick at PASS PAUSE PLAY #14: HOW DID WE GET HERE? ⏭️⏸️▶️ Songs + Stories in Sydney Tuesday 3rd March - 6:30pm 189B Saint Johns Road, Forest Lodge
