The building is preceded by a semicircular patio, doubled by the course of the staircase that leads to the upper rafter of the garden. The presence of the patio has allowed both the study at the ground floor and the adjoining bathroom to be equipped with windows. An exposed concrete fitting element accommodates the curved wall of the staircase and the rectilinear wall that extends to the entrance gate

In our view, the building represents a tribute to lakeside architecture, understood as that widespread pastiche has characterised the Lombardy-Piedmont landscape since the end of the 19th century. The building form that Carlo Emilio Gadda called “villula”, a neologism he coined to describe that minute assembly of different architectural motifs. Similarly, the project was born from our personal reminiscences, which include Einrich Tessenow, Raul Lino, Asnago Vender and Aldo Rossi
