I worked on this installation for a couple of months.
It was honestly quite a challenge. Many sweet people were involved, diferent hands, different ideas. At times I really wasn’t sure how it would turn out or if it would even look good in the end.
But I kept working on it… and then suddenly, in one moment, all the pieces just came together.
And just when it was almost ready, our events industry had a full stop.
For a moment I thought maybe I should wait before sharing it.
But then I thought… no. I’ll share it anyway.
Maybe it’s a little reminder that sometimes things look uncertain for a long time, and then suddenly everything falls into place.
So here it is. Hoping our city will soon come back to normal life and I can see my creations in use. 🤍
After 19 years in the events industry in Dubai, one thing I know for sure…
Event planners and wedding planners are a different species.
You can give them a timeline that makes no sense, a client that changed their mind 7 times, a supplier stuck in traffic, and somehow… by a magical wand , everything will be just fine . And they will also manage to look calm.
Right now the industry is going through a pause and I know it’s creating a lot of chaos behind the scenes.
But if there’s anyone I’m not worried about… it’s you guys.
You’ve solved far worse problems than this. 🤍
These past days reminded me how many elements have to work together for life to feel normal.
In our industry we feel it immediately when there is a crisis . My heart goes out to all my colleagues in the events world who are affected right now.
At the same time, today I just feel grateful for the nineteen years I’ve been living in the UAE, a place that has given so many of us safety, stability, and the chance to build our lives here.
I’m sure things will return to normal soon and we’ll all be back to doing what we love.
