🇫🇷 Il y a quatre ans, le livre
@thetattoowriter sortait enfin des presses de l’imprimeur italien EBS.
Après des années de travail, tout se jouait là. L'excitation se mêlait au doute.
Ce livre, que nous avions passé tant de temps à imaginer, serait-il à la hauteur de ce que nous avions en tête ? Avions-nous fait les bons choix ?
Se rendre à Vérone, chez EBS, spécialiste européen de l’impression photographique noir et blanc, c’était aussi faire le choix d’honorer, par le soin apporté à la fabrication, le témoignage unique porté par ces photographies.
L’impression reste un moment inoubliable. Le bruit des machines, l’odeur du papier, les échanges avec les ouvriers, les derniers ajustements… Une tension intense, suivie d’un immense plaisir.
Quelques semaines plus tard, tenir le livre entre les mains fut un soulagement et une joie profonde. Merci à toutes celles et ceux qui ont rendu ce projet possible.

@thetattoowriter book finally came off the presses of the Italian printer EBS.
After years of work, everything came down to that moment. Excitement mixed with doubt.
This book, which we had spent so long imagining, would it live up to what we had in mind? Had we made the right choices?
Travelling to Verona, to EBS, a European specialist in black-and-white photographic printing, was also a way of honouring, through the great standards of production, the unique testimony carried by these photographs.
The printing remains an unforgettable moment. The sound of the machines, the smell of paper, the exchanges with the press operators, the final adjustments… An intense tension, followed by immense pleasure.
A few weeks later, holding the book in my hands was a relief and a deep joy.
