Had the privilege of participating in the beautiful evening dedicated to the writer Vishvambhar Purohit’s new short story collection- Yaadon Ka Yayavar. These are stories, that champion the everyday human. Vulnerable, but replete with strength of character. Stories that speak of the ones on the margins. Last evening was spent flying kites on the beach. 🏖️ The first kite was struck down in a sky bound duel. And after a brief lesson from kite flying veterans (11 year olds), the second kite took off. The aim was to take it high enough that it becomes a speck in the sky. Which it did! And then like Icarus, it came crashing. But not before enjoying its day in the clouds. To happy returns. To the vibrant world of a Bombay beach. To the winter sunset and the silky sea. Happy Sankranti! 🪁
