ilembe. For my Debut set, I wanted to start with something that reflected who I am, why I’m making this Decision to Dj, and something that reflects where I am in my life rn. Ilembe, a Song about a Great leader And his wars. I feel like I’m at War. At War with self. At War with the Man I used to be. At War with the Man I’m becoming. At war with with my Demons At war with my Purpose. At War with necessary opposition for the fulfillment of my purpose. I realized that some of the Greatest Leaders didn’t Lead from the Back, But at the Fore front. My love for Music has led me down another path And this time it’s at the fore front of it. To Take the biggest bet I’ve ever Taken, and this time, it’s on myself. I’ve taken The Rear seat For the longest to shine light on artistes that I Truly love, And this season has Required something different from me. While i am Fully committed to Building the ecosystem I dreamt of that will Help African Creatives with my business @kvltwrld I will be Taking myself as the ultimate Lab rat. I’m Opening up the doors to a part of myself that has existed for the longest, But I Didn’t Tap into. I don’t know where this leads, But I know it will be hella fun. Scared, Yes. Excited, Even more.
