Parrett's window and door units for this home were factory-painted and constructed of sapele mahogany. The front entry door system featured decorative glass with metal caming bars. A unique "profiled" door panel design was employed, as well as a decorative "centered accent" and a bronze interlocking sill.
The other window and door units featured an insulated, laminated glass makeup, offering the benefits of fade protection, sound deadening, and enhanced breakage/security performance. Grilles were simulated divided lite with internal spacer bars.
Weight and chain double-hung windows were utilized to allow nearly effortless operation of the heavier sashes due to the laminated glass makeup. Spiral balance hung windows were also used in areas where large daylight openings were a primary factor. The largest stationary window was over 90” x 120”.
Pushout casements were equipped with multipoint locking handlesets, as well as historic, exposed pushbars. All window and door units featured unlacquered brass hardware, which will patina with age and use, resulting in a one-of-a-kind appearance. Parrett was proud to contribute to the unique design characteristics of this home.

STAINED GLASS - RESTORATION ELLIPSE WINDOW
A client contacted Parrett with an aged decorative glass panel and the proposal to install this glass into a new window unit for their future residence. The glass panel was travel-weary with its origins from another state and previous installed locations, and upon an initial inspection was unstable for an appropriate new installation.
A local artisan, Nathan Paul Meyer, of Art Factory America was contacted and confirmed the deteriorated condition of this over 100-year-old panel of glass. The glass was left in his care and the meticulous complete disassembly of the approximately 450 pieces was began and then simultaneously reassembled with utilization of the majority of the original lights of glass. Patience and authentic lead caming were used to recreate the original personality of the piece per the client’s aspirations.
Parrett templated the restored glass panel and manufactured a window unit to give the now rejuvenated piece its new resting place, and then final installation in the residence for a further 100 years of appreciation.

This new construction, 7,600 square foot residence on Lake Winnipesaukee is one of the most breathtaking homes in the New Hampshire Lakes Region. The home won design awards as well as being featured in NH Home Magazine. In addition to the elegant beauty of the architectural design, this home also features excellent engineering resulting in high energy-efficiency.
The unique building envelope system utilizes materials that are natural to the state of New Hampshire. The insulation qualities of the home are also unrivaled, with double roof and wall systems coupled with Intello membrane technologies, in addition to several other high energy efficiency systems and materials.
Parrett manufactured the pictured entry door system which consisted of an inswing door with matching sidelights, and an archtop transom above. An outswing door panel was outfitted with an interchangeable glass storm / screen sash, providing additional insulation value in the winter, while allowing cool air to pass through in warmer months. This door system was constructed of vertical grain douglas fir and was factory stain & clear coated by Parrett. Parrett also manufactured two other entry door systems similar in design, but with extruded aluminum cladding exteriors.
All three entry door systems were equipped with a unique electrified, multi-point locking hardware system. Parrett also included all required “wire-chases,” facilitating an easy installation once installed at the jobsite.
Parrett was proud to be a part of this home that was designed to last a lifetime.

This weight and cord hung window unit combines old-world styling along with modern performance, low-maintenance, and longevity in the field. An AAMA 2605 (kynar) paint spec extruded aluminum clad exterior will provide optimal durability against the exterior elements. True weight & pulley double hung windows are not commonly available with aluminum clad exteriors. With Parrett’s expertise in both extremely large and/or complex hung window shapes, virtually any design criteria can be accommodated.
Solid brass hung window hardware and a stain & clear coated mahogany interior further contributed to the high-end aesthetic of this hung window unit which fits perfectly within historic renovation projects.

Tammany Hall - 44 Union Square
Tammany Hall was formed in 1789 as a political organization opposed to the Federalist Party. While primarily concerned with helping New York City’s immigrants and poverty-stricken residents, Tammany Hall is also known today in reference to the corruption charges brought against former leader William M. “Boss” Tweed, whose downfall began in 1871. The Tammany “political machine” ceased to exist by 1967.
The 44 Union Square building served as the Tammany Hall headquarters after relocation from the previous headquarters on 14th Street. Architects Thompson, Holmes & Converse and Charles B. Meyers designed this neo-Georgian building which was constructed in 1928-29. As Tammany Hall lost power during the 1930’s, the building was later sold in 1943 to an affiliate of the International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union.
During the 1980’s the building was used by the Union Square Theatre and was also utilized by the New York Film Academy in 1994. In 2013 the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the building as a city landmark, and an extensive renovation later took place from 2016-2020, resulting in the building now being utilized as office and retail space. Perhaps the most breathtaking part of the building renovation is the new dome which is fully enclosed by geometric glass panels.
Designed by BKSK Architects, and with CNY Group in charge of construction management, this project won the following awards:

This church and parsonage located within the Van Vorst Park Historic District of Jersey City was built in 1874. Although it was constructed on behalf of the Scotch Presbyterian Congregation, it was often referred to as the “McKenzie Church” as George R. McKenzie provided a sizable portion of the initial funding. McKenzie was able to fund the church due to his position as President of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, which he grew to later be referred in 1882 as “one of the largest and wealthiest companies in the world.”
The architect behind the design of this “gothic style” yet understated church is unknown but is often assumed to have been designed by Edward Simon as he had a history of working with George R. McKenzie, and had built a similar church in the Greenville section of Jersey City.
Dixon Advisory USA purchased the church and parsonage building after the church filed for bankruptcy in 2013, citing an earlier 2007 fire as a primary cause. Dixon teamed with the respected renovation team of Jersey City-based Coastal Points Construction LLC to ensure that the historically accurate renovation would allow the building to retain its authenticity yet still provide the modern conveniences expected in a high-end, multi-family residence. Residences will be available for purchase as of July 2020.
Parrett manufactured a large variety of units for this church and parsonage consisting of swing doors, crankout casements, hung windows, and two extremely large, custom-crafted, gothic-top stationary windows. These two stationary window systems were 96” X 276” and consisted of many unique, factory-mulled complicated shapes, casings, and mull cavities. Parrett provided the structural engineering calculations and structural supports required to support these large windows.
These all-wood, mahogany window and door units were painted in the Parrett factory and featured either insulated decorative glass or Low E.
