We are incredibly excited to welcome the Parker Quartet to the MFA tonight to give what promises to be a historic concert of the Debussy and Ravel String Quartets. First violinist Daniel Chong will be performing on the 1714 āKneisel, Grünā Stradivari violināthe same instrument Franz Kneisel used for the American premieres of these pieces in 1902 and 1906āwhich is currently on loan to the MFA from a generous lender. /event/music/parker-quartet

This program weaves together themes of nature, ecopoetics, and heritage through a new work for string quartet and mezzo-soprano by composer Anthony Cheung, inspired by the poetry of Arthur Sze and Victoria Chang. Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet and Singaporean-British mezzo-soprano Fleur Baron.
Meet the artists:
The Parker Quartet, since its founding in 2002, has established itself as one of the preeminent ensembles of its generation, celebrated for its fresh interpretations of the canon and its passionate advocacy for contemporary music.
Equally acclaimed, Fleur Barron is a magnetic and versatile artist mentored by Barbara Hannigan. Hailed as āa knockout performerā by The Times, Singaporean-British mezzo Fleur Barron won a 2025 GRAMMY Award for Best Opera Recording, in which she sang the title role in Kaija Saariahoās Adriana Mater with the San Francisco Symphony under Esa-Pekka Salonen.
