ā˜… New Book at Noon: Chasing the Clouds Away by Debbie Macomber ā˜… (Contemporary Romance) Maisy Gallagher has her own dreams, but when her father passes away, she sets them aside to help her family. Despite knowing it was the right thing to do, she can’t help but wish for the road not taken. Chase Furst, the hardened heir to a financial empire, is on the other hand primarily focused on his own life and on his work as a bank executive. His childhood was marred by his mother’s struggle with addiction, and left him cynical and emotionally distant. But then Chase meets Maisy, a beautiful woman full of optimism and kindness who can see past his defenses. To his surprise and annoyance, she offers to help him during a time of need, and declines his offer of payment. Instead, she asks him to pay it forward—and not with money or a quick fix, but through an act of true selflessness. At a loss, Chase doesn’t know where to begin. {Check back every weekday at noon to see a new featured book!} {Click the #NewBookAtNoon hashtag to see previous selections) ---------- To place a hold on this (or any) title, stop by the library or give us a call at 343-7747 or log into your account at our website: /catalog/ #newbookspotlight #newbooks #newbookalert #newbooks2026 #newbookrelease #newbookatnoon

ā˜… New Book at Noon: For the Love of Houseplants by Tanner Mitchell ā˜… (Gardening) Caring for plants can be a meditative practice, even a form of self-care. Tanner Mitchell knows this firsthand. As the owner of a beloved plant store he opened with his wife in 2020, Tanner has seen how house plants bring so much comfort and joy to people, regardless of what else is going on in their lives or in the larger world. With his kids’ encouragement, Tanner began posting plant care tips on TikTok and soon, he found his calling. Now, Tanner combines his expert knowledge and experience into an easy-to-follow and inspiring resource for houseplant care. For the Love of Houseplants covers everything from selecting plants suited to your space’s natural conditions to step-by-step guides for watering, repotting, fertilizing, and more. Tanner offers troubleshooting advice for common plant problems, like yellow leaves, brown tips, pests, overwatering, and mushy stems. The book also includes in-depth profiles of thirty of the most popular houseplants—aglaonema, anthurium, fiddle-leaf fig, orchid, peace lily, philodendron, snake plant, succulents, and many more. Most importantly, Tanner reminds us to appreciate the small joys in life and embrace the challenges and setbacks of plant care as part of the journey. Whether you are a seasoned plant parent or just starting out, For the Love of Houseplants is a must-have for anyone looking to bring a bit of the natural world into their home. {Check back every weekday at noon to see a new featured book!} {Click the #NewBookAtNoon hashtag to see previous selections) ---------- To place a hold on this (or any) title, stop by the library or give us a call at 343-7747 or log into your account at our website: /catalog/ #newbookspotlight #newbooks #newbookalert #newbooks2026 #newbookrelease #newbookatnoon

ā˜… New Book at Noon: Thistlemarsh by Moorea Corrigan ā˜… (Cozy Fantasy) Faeries disappeared over one hundred years ago, as suddenly as slipping through a doorway. It was only the very foolish, or the very determined, who held out hope for their return. Welcome to Thistlemarsh—a ramshackle estate where an impoverished orphan and a beguiling Faerie collide in an enchanting novel of love, revenge, and ruin. In the wake of The Great War, the world is a decidedly unmagical place for Mouse Dunne. She once dreamed of becoming a Faerie anthropologist, but with one telegram, her world shattered. At the Battle of the Somme, her cousin’s body disappeared into the mud, and her brother was left with debilitating shell shock. It was time, she knew, to put aside childish dreams. When Mouse receives news that her uncle has left her the Faerie-blessed Thistlemarsh Hall, a dilapidated manor in the English countryside, she must leave her brother’s side and return to her childhood home to claim her birthright. But there is a catch in her uncle’s offer: If Mouse does not rehabilitate the crumbling house in one month’s time, she will forfeit her inheritance and any hope of caring for her brother. It quickly becomes clear it’s impossible to repair the manor in the allotted time, until a mysterious Faerie appears with a proposition. He offers to restore Thistlemarsh...for a price. Mouse knows better than to trust a Faerie—especially one so insufferably handsome and arrogant—but she is out of options. There are dark and magical forces at work in the house, and Mouse must confront the ghosts of her past and the secrets of her heart or lose Thistlemarsh, and herself, in the process. {Check back every weekday at noon to see a new featured book!} {Click the #NewBookAtNoon hashtag to see previous selections) ---------- To place a hold on this (or any) title, stop by the library or give us a call at 343-7747 or log into your account at our website: /catalog/ #newbookspotlight #newbooks #newbookalert #newbooks2026 #newbookrelease #newbookatnoon

ā˜… New Book at Noon: The Story of Birds: A New History from Their Dinosaur Origins to the Present by Steve Brusatte ā˜… (Natural History, Biology) From "one of the stars of modern paleontology" (National Geographic), Steve Brusatte tells the extraordinary story of the dinosaurs' living legacy: birds. He begins by exploring how dinosaurs gradually developed the trademark features of birds one-by-one—feathers, wings, beaks, big brains, keen senses, and warm-blooded metabolisms. He investigates why birds were the only dinosaurs to survive the cataclysmic asteroid impact 66 million years ago and chronicles how these survivors rapidly proliferated to produce the diversity of avian species we know today. Along the way, we meet a variety of remarkable – now extinct – species: - 10-foot-tall terror birds with beaks that sliced flesh - Elephant birds that lived on Madagascar and laid eggs the size of footballs - Pelagornithid seabirds with 20-foot wingspans - A ferocious Jamaican ibis that used its wings as clubs to attack rivals Yet, Brusatte also urges us to appreciate the extraordinariness of birds alive today – penguins that literally fly underwater, parrots that can mimic human speech and crows that can make tools and are smarter than most mammals.
