Process photos. I was invited to contribute to an upcoming group show- my first ever gallery show!! ‘Cum Grano Salis’, at Redhead Gallery, 401 Richmond St., Toronto, ON. March 4 - 28. So excited! The theme is science fiction/climate fiction, so my piece reflects on climate change, a dystopian future, and the possible extinction of vulnerable species such as great white sharks. It will be a papier-maché and paper collage work in the round, approximately 40 cm in diameter.

To prepare for an art piece I’m working on, I’ve been exploring building forms with recycled egg carton pulp, starting with simple vessels like plates and bowls. They’re covered in thin, printed papers like napkins or tissue, or upcycled candy wrapper foil, and some are painted with acrylics. Then I varnish them with hard Mod Podge and sit back and go, “Well, that was quick!”. JK, 😆 The whole process, from starting the pulp to four coats of varnish fully dried takes about a *week*. Mind you, I do three or four at a time.
I sold a few at the recent holiday market (thanks, @kate.hang !), and am thinking about setting up an online store for these and other creations. I really like the results, but I’d welcome your thoughts on any or all of this.
