Project snapshot mid-evolution with a favorite creative-director level client. We've played with opacity, adding mauve pink tones to gel with our final framed mat picks incoming this week, elimed some concepts and amplified others. Perfecting how we balance design territories. Saving our cloud roosting fruit bats for another day!

Spotted the cutest 1885 print shop facade on our trip back to Australia this winter. Initially saw the downstairs was for lease and wondered what happened to them. Found out they are still making office supplies and more today. As a paper nerd, this makes me happy.
The company is still Bolton Bros. Just relocated. Now you can rent out 1/43 Mitchell as a cute apartment. And the architectural heritage is safe. Maybe we'll stay there next time!
I like things a little sketchy. Not full Roz Chast but a little bit imperfect. Like you have to squint a bit to make it out. I can do clean lines, but give me a little room for chaos balanced with form and I'm happy.
Kicking off our count down of 12 individual works of art used for day-of-seating wayfinding, at the Hay Adams in D.C., at A+J's wedding last November.
An ode to the @hayadamshotel . A few special notes:
+ Vintage post card of the building included in the flat lay.
+ Hay Adams logo aligned treatment to Adrienne and Justin's names
+ An illustrated watercolor of the venue as seen today
+ A nod to DC - cherry blossom botanicals and monuments
+ Overall inspiration and details illustration inspired by their blue bikes.

On this Thanksgiving eve, I'm beyond thankful for my creative brides like @akuxhausen who trust me to envision their event before it's here. Who let me explore fun ideas with them together, like wrapping our DC monument seating chart illustrations around our menu. While sometimes pushing boundaries, we keep it feeling elevated. We tied in botanicals from the invitation suite by making them monochrome and positioning on top and bottom, creating consistency across the more colorful mailed concepts. I'm lucky to get to play creatively, and be part of dreaming around my clients big life moments. It's also so special when I get to see how they come to life. How the artwork flows with the day, or commemorative flat lays are documented. The details for this one were exceptionally beautifully captured by @maddywilliamsphotography . Flat lays and close ups up next!
Sneak peak of a detail from @akuxhausen 's wedding last Fall. I'm going to feature a few photos of stationery shots and their day-of source inspiration from @maddywilliamsphotography + some behind the scenes drawings. I am feeling nostalgically thankful for this special bride and the gorgeous shots so let's do a series! We'll wrap it up with a 12 days of Xmas theme as we transition into December.
Calligraphed inner envelopes, polka dot liner, a peak of reply insert monogrammed cherries, a touch of cream throughout. Went with first names only for a warmer touch on the inner.
Paper selection games, ft. Atlanta skyline, engagement spot. For the save the dates we sanity checked handmade paper, and print density, eventually landing on recycled crisp and clean classic paper to let the sunset artwork shine. We carried the illustration onto the wedding website, invitations and welcome signage. Yes that is a cat in the bottom right. We snuck him in and some personaly meaningful botanicals.

Snapshot of a morning fisherman within a larger piece. I'll have to post the colorful underlayment behind the darkened mountainside. Acrylic on a custom wood cut for a window topper holiday present from last year, for her father. This is just a few inches tall, but the scene widens to a sunrise scene in either direction.
For an invite suite insert we took a vintage Champale advert, hand drew changed elements within the cartoon in the same style, added watercolor touches, and a drawn bow. For a bar sign we repurposed the illustrated motif, swapped in a real bow from the ceremony booklets, and framed it up with checkered pizzaz.
