Desafiando a fachada de bem-estar frequentemente apresentada no setor, a peça mostra como os bailarinos lutam com a sua saúde mental num ambiente de trabalho tóxico — navegando abuso sistémico, manipulação e expectativas irrealistas nas suas vidas profissionais. NO IM NOT é uma continuação de Are You Okay?, o anterior trabalho de grupo de Panos, que explora a dualidade das experiências dos intérpretes, revelando a dissonância entre a pressão social para aparentar estar “bem” e o seu tumulto interior. Panos Malactos is a Cypriot dancer and choreographer whose work moves between intimacy, surrealism, and the everyday. He explores themes of queerness, identity, mental health and transformation through a physical, emotionally charged language. Rooted in both theatricality and raw movement, his creations unfold like lived stories—shifting between humor, tenderness, and unease—reflecting a deeply human search for belonging and expression. It’s the time of the monsters. “Brightest Heroine”, Panos Malactos’ new solo, stages a physical attempt to fight the monsters of the present. A choreographic exploration of a body that reacts, mobilizes and revolts. The work unfolds as a stamina test. The body becomes a site of political action. Charged with the force of collective uprising, it traces the emotional and kinetic trajectory of resistance, exhaustion and reboot. The heroine is in the final level of the game, where she confronts the final boss. But in a world where spells operate without visible sorcerers behind them, who is the enemy? Is there a decisive move that could end the battle? Or is the battle designed to never end? The audience is invited into a space where the boundaries between digital and physical reality blur, where the battle and its aftermath coexist, and where perseverance appears as a fragile gesture in a world that increasingly seems to be trolling us.
