TIMMINS you will always have my heart💖 it was so exciting to perform in drag in my hometown for the 1st time! The crowd was amazing, the other performers were incredibly talented. Plus I got to see my family, and since they had only seen my drag online it was a bonus for us all to be together in person when I danced my ass off on stage😅💕 I just wanted to say a huge thank you to @fiertetimminspride @thesurgesportslounge for allowing me the opportunity to perform! Being able to do what I love in a place that I love is the most euphoric experience to feel, especially being queer🏳️‍🌈being trans🏳️‍⚧️! I love drag and it has helped me figure so many things out. It’s a passion I hope to never let go of. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 Without PRIDE and without people supporting PRIDE month, people like me can’t thrive. So I also have a whole community of people to thank for helping get me to this moment! I’ve only gotten to do it a handful of times but every time I go back I get more excited for people to see this side of me. I also won the chance to go back and perform again for pride! Yay me! I wish I was able to get more footage of the other performers because everyone did amazing! Thank you to @itsvajayjay for all of the behind the scenes work you did to also make sure this event took place, you are always so great to work with. Thank you to @buddiesto for allowing this event to take place at your venue! This is community. You all gave a place for trans peoples voices and art. Thank you to all of the other trans performers in the lineup, together we not only headlined on Trans Day of Visibility, we uplifted each other and our trans siblings, we raised so much for @friendsofruby.ca ! When I was asked to be apart of this project I instantly knew the route I wanted to take. My life as a trans man has been a journey but remembering to love myself every step of the journey became hard when I sometimes didn’t have the best influences. You very quickly learn the pressures society puts on individuals and you sometimes think you have to be one thing in order to fit in. With the right support system you learn how to overcome the barriers society not only puts on queer people but trans people as well, you learn that you don’t have to fit a mold to be liked. You just have to be you. I’m so grateful for the friends and family I have, always wanting the best for me and making sure I stay me while I get it.
