Spirits of trees. Human destinies.
Inspired by Japanese folklore, where “kodama” are spirits dwelling within ancient trees, KODAMA is a black-and-white photography series exploring the deep connection between nature and human life.
Trees carry memory just as people do. Their roots reach through time, their bodies bend and break, their scars remain visible. In every branch, crack, and uprooted trunk there is a reflection of survival, loss, resilience, and transformation.
Presented in monochrome, the photographs strip away distraction and focus on texture, form, silence, and emotion. The forest here is not just a landscape – it becomes a living presence, a witness, and a mirror.
KODAMA invites viewers to reflect on what connects us to nature and to ourselves.
What if the forest remembers us better than we remember ourselves?

“Peyvand” – a Persian word meaning connection – is a musical dialogue between artists of different cultural and geographical backgrounds. Initiated by Yaser Bayat in collaboration with PANDA platforma, the project creates a space where traditions meet, evolve, and transform into new sonic experiences.
