TANGO FESTIVAL, the Pan American Symphony Orchestra (PASO) performed its program PIAZZOLLA IN VIENNA at the Embassy of Austria in Washington DC @austriainusa ✨🎶 PASO (@panamsymphony ) brought Astor Piazzolla’s iconic nuevo tangos to life, performing many of the masterpieces from his legendary 1983 Vienna concert, including some standards along with stunning reinterpretations of his earlier themes. Embassy of Austria in Washington DC @austriainusa Join the Pan American Symphony Orchestra (PASO) (@panamsymphony ) for a concert of nuevo tangos by Astor Piazzolla. In 1983, Piazzolla performed in Vienna with his Quinteto and critics hailed it as one of the group’s best performances ever. The quintet played many of their standards, such as Adios Nonino and Libertango, but they also performed some “reinventions” of earlier Piazzolla themes, all with near perfection of harmony, melody, and edgy intensity.
