Two Days In. One Powerful Momentum. 🇪🇹🔥 Over the past two days at PANAF Summit 2026, the conversations have been bold, honest, and necessary. From unpacking how laws can both protect and restrict artistic expression… to confronting the economic pressures artists navigate daily… to centering gender, digital power, platform control, and governance — we have not stayed on the surface. We’ve heard legal minds, artists, policymakers, researchers, and cultural leaders challenge each other. We’ve seen tough questions asked. We’ve witnessed connections form that will outlive this week 🤝🏾 This is what Free to Create: Power, Pressure, and Possibilities within Digital and Economic Landscapes looks like in practice. And we’re not done. Day 3 is about forward motion. Resourcing. Strategy. Sustainability. Turning dialogue into direction. 🎯 The room is charged. The ideas are sharper. The commitment is real. Let’s finish strong. #PANAFSummit2026 #FreeToCreate #PANAF #ArtisticFreedom

#FacesOfPANAFSummit2026 🇪🇹 Across the first two days of the PANAF Summit 2026, we’ve seen artists, policymakers, legal experts, cultural leaders, and advocates from across Africa come together around a shared commitment to artistic freedom. The conversations have engaged law, economics, gender, digital spaces, and governance — all within this year’s theme: Free to Create: Power, Pressure, and Possibilities within Digital and Economic Landscapes. As we conclude on Day 3, the focus continues on strengthening collaboration and building sustainable pathways for the arts sector across the continent and all the possibilities that lie ahead. These are the faces shaping the dialogue. #PANAF #FreeToCreate #PANAFSummit2026

Day 1 of #PANAFSummit2026 brought together artists, legal minds, cultural leaders, and policymakers for conversations that felt grounded and real. We explored how power operates around creative work — through legal systems, economic structures, and social dynamics — and how artists continue to navigate, challenge, and reshape those spaces. There was depth. There was nuance. There was strong engagement across perspectives and countries. The energy in Addis is focused and forward-looking. Day 2 begins tomorrow — and we move into digital power, governance, and the future of creative ecosystems. #PANAF #PANAFVoices #FreeToCreate #ArtisticFreedom

PANAF Voices is making waves ✊ We are excited to share that celebrated Kenyan writer Silas Nyanchwani has reviewed the PANAF Voices Digital Magazine in The Elephant — one of Africa’s leading platforms for bold and revolutionary storytelling. In his powerful review, Silas describes PANAF Voices as: “A testimony to persistence in the face of artistic repression across the continent.” From censorship and economic injustice to digital resistance and artistic resilience, the review captures why PANAF Voices matters now more than ever. This is more than a magazine. It is a platform for African artists to speak freely, document lived realities, resist repression, and reimagine freedom through art. This is your girl at the #panafsummit2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 🇪🇹 Representing 🇰🇪 with pride. Courtesy of @panaf_org , I had the incredible opportunity to attend the summit, to learn deeply, connect meaningfully, and perform before some of the movers and shakers shaping Africa’s creative economy. We held powerful conversations on the state of artistic freedom across the continent: what it means, what it costs, and what it will take to protect it. To stand on that stage, in that room, carrying poetry from Kenya to Ethiopia… was such an honour. Grateful. Grounded. Growing. ✨ #SpontaneousThePoet #womeninart #ArtisticFreedom #kenyanpoet Thankyou for the 🎥 @javan_thepoet
