What luck! I made a stop by @redstoneperformance today, just as the 962 was making its way outside! This is likely the only time I’ll ever see it in person, completed, and in the sun. Soon it goes for shake down laps, a photo shoot, and then off to its (quite eager I’m sure) owner, in New York. Wish you could all see it in person in the sun. What a show stopper.

Finallllllly. It’s time to put the shine on the ‘59 Apache, which going this deep blue pearl inside and out. Painting the inside and outside at once is….fun? 😂. Thank goodness I do yoga now and then or i’m not sure I pull this off at my age. May not look like much, but trust me : that was the worst part of this entire job. The gray is the finished primer surfacer ready for paint, the black the primer sealer, the flat blue is basecoat, and then of course the shiny is clear coated . #indypowdercoating #pgpw #paintergeek #1959apache #1959chevyapache @snakepitcustoms

Prepping interiors is always hard. But when the inner roof is part of that painted area, it’s exceptionally thirsty work. (as opposed to, say, a car that the roof is hidden by a headliner so your interior prep is mostly focused on the dash). There simply is no easy or convenient way of doing this. Gary’s been hard at work on his truck. Well, I’ve been working on it too. But my end has been down to things like steering columns and grilles. He’s been busy getting everything underneath powder coated, the exhaust cerakoted, back glass trimmed and installed, and beginning the assembly. Laid some pearl white down today on the mystery project and Took a mask-less selfie for some reason. Actually, the project itself isn’t a mystery. A quick google search found pictures of its restoration posted by the owner online. BUT: It’s not for ME to share it getting color. That will be for the official unveiling in 2026. Cars like this are why I steered my career this direction as opposed to the collision shop life. They present their own unique challenges and struggles. But it beats swapping the fender and color blending the door of a beige Honda any day. #pgpw #paintergeek
