One of my favorite things is when I’ve said to someone, “it’s good to see you” and they respond with, “it’s good to be seen.”
Isn’t that just delightful?! It IS good to be seen.
“We need farmers, poets, people who know how to make bread, who love trees and recognize the wind. More than the year of growth, we need the year of attention. Pay attention to those who fall, to the sun that is born and dies, to the children who grow up, pay attention even to a simple street lamp, to a peeling wall.
Today being revolutionary means taking away more than adding, slowing down rather than accelerating, it means giving value to silence, to light, to fragility, to sweetness.” 🌸🌺🌻

Stand up during dinner, say you have a pain that won’t go away.
Look into the eyes of relatives, really try to establish a family—a federation of wounds.
Now that you are in company say your loneliness, surely it is the same as others.
And tell them about your boredom, your intolerance with the cold, with the overcoat, to aid digestion.
If you burst into tears, it is even better, shock your relatives, plant the flag of restlessness in the middle of the living room.
Take courage, pick up a book of poetry read a few verses, they have movies planned for tomorrow.
Talk about the dead, talk about yourselves and then listen, clear the table, get the food out of the way, put your life on the table.
Poem by Franco Arminio
I started training for my first half marthon over six years ago, but stopped training halfway through because of a foot injury. Yesterday I completed my first half w/ some friends!!
I’m thankful for the all the buddies who: physically ran miles with me in training, gave me running tips, let me use their gym, cheered me on & ran alongside me yesterday.
I’m grateful for my strong legs, and Rhode Trip & Beyoncé’s albums that carried me through.
We can do hard things. Stay silly. Stay up.
Learning the unforced rhythms of Grace. Some moments are up, many have been down. Trying to have eyes to see the beauty and joy in it all.
