PAGE 28 is an apartheid free zone and refuses to contribute to Israel’s genocide and violations of international law
We are now participating in the organized boycott led by @bds.sverige and actively working to ensure that our bookstore and cultural scene do not contain support for the occupation of Palestine in any form.
We strive for our bookstore and cultural scene to be a safe place for all queers. If you see anything on our stage or in our store that goes against our values, we are grateful if you let us know
During the Lebanese Civil War and Israel’s 1982 invasion, journalists and civilians wore a shirt reading “Don’t Shoot” in Arabic, French, and English — not as a political statement, but as a plea to be seen as human. At Sabra and Shatila, Israeli forces enabled the massacre of thousands of Palestinian refugees while sealing the perimeters. Decades on, the shirt’s message remains urgent: Israel’s current military campaign has displaced over one million people in Lebanon, nearly a fifth of the population.
Together with Malmö-based artist Ibn Attab @afflaf DubbelExponerat, and Page 28, we are launching the Ne Tirez Pas Fundraiser to gather funds for First Tree @firsttree_center , a community initiative based in central Beeka.
First Tree has worked in various capacities to provide basic amenities such as food and menstrual products, as well as support for those hosting displaced people and families. Our aim is to provide ongoing support through mutual aid and raising funds. You can support by stopping by the store or donating to the fund directly by SWISH with the title “Ne Tirez Pas ‘26”.
Special thank you to @lilla.auktionsstudion for our merch pictures 📸❤️
✨May is Mental Health Awareness Month✨
There is a lot of stigma around mental health. Especially in spring when everyone assumes you’re happy to see the sun and the flowers. It’s ok if you’re struggling. You are still valid and you are still loved.
Mental health matters. And you don’t have to be happy to eat ice cream❣️
Puss och kram, tit

SV I KOMMENTARERNA // Läs mer om Red Umbrella Sweden på deras hemsida redumbrella.se
Deeply grateful to have hosted Red Umbrella Sweden’s first S.T.A.N.D. Conference and Fundraiser. Throughout the conference, we heard powerful reflections on how the Swedish Model impacts sex workers, learned about ongoing efforts to organise around personal safety and community care, and listened to calls for collective labour rights and protection.
This conference emerged in response to the systemic and ongoing exclusion of sex workers in leftist organising spaces and from Malmö’s Workers’ March on May 1st. You can read more about the conference panel topics in the image slides.
As an organisation, we believe meaningful change begins with honest, open, and respectful dialogue. We remain committed to creating space for a broad range of voices and perspectives on feminism, labour rights, state oppression, and bodily autonomy.
As a feminist, anti-racist, and queer bookstore and cultural space, PAGE 28 is dedicated to hosting conversations that reflect the full complexity of our communities. This event is one of many steps we are taking toward a vision rooted in representation, solidarity, and inclusivity. Above all, we believe in centring and platforming community members according to the principle: “Nothing About Us Without Us.”
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Red Umbrella Sweden and hope to gather again for another conference and fundraiser around this time next year. Incredibly grateful to all the artists, venues, collaborators and local organisations that supported this event! ❤️🔥
It was an honour for this to be my inaugural event as the new Cultural Producer at Page 28.
Love and solidarity,
Yaël Pool, on behalf of PAGE 28

✨️VOLUNTEER BOOK REC✨️
Happy Tuesday! 💞 It's a new month and we have a new recommendation for you! This month it is the wonderful "Our Wives Under The Sea" 🌊
"Six months after a deep sea mission is declared lost, Miri unexpectedly gets her wife Leah back. Expecting life to return to normal, Miri notices something off about Leah. The Leah that left is not the same Leah that returned. “Our Wives Under The Sea” is an eerie story about love and loss, and a relationship study of a couple desperate to find something that’s no longer there.
The horror premise is interesting, using the sea mixed with body horror is always a hit to me. The overall vibe is creepy and you connect with the characters, and although I felt it lacking a bit in the horror element it was an excellent character study."
Our recommendations can be found either in our store at Mitt Möllan or on our webshop; the link is in our bio! 🌈
Happy reading! 📖

Lost in translations 📚
The inventory team comes to you this Tuesday with a showcase of books in translation. Inspired by the popular Edouard Louis’ L'Effondrement recent release in Swedish as Kollapsen and its arrival in store, we pulled some great books from all across the (non english language) world to join it. That more than half of them have won or been nominated (and one currently is, shout out to Rene Karabash and She Who Remains) for the International Booker Prize back us up too.
These are our recommendations to you and if you have any recommendations for us – we love to hear them. Especially if they are translations from less dominant languages so we can continue to fight against the all growing dominance of british and anglo american markets, whose books get translated all over but who in comparison translate and publish little of the rest of the world. And when it gets translated it is not always easy to find.
So from us to you, and from you to us – help a queer out to expand their shelves, literally and globally, and celebrate the human art of translation.
Itemised list with the books, authors, translators and original language are posted in comments 🫡

RED UMBRELLA FUNDRAISER PARTY @atemlosmalmo - presenting: Goltairis (he/him) brings a level of technical depth to the booth rooted in years of formal musical discipline. A classically trained pianist and a current member of The Malmö Academic Choir and Orchestra, Goltairis approaches his sets with a musician’s intuition for harmony and structural evolution.
His sound is a curated journey through the intersections of Afro-Tech, Melodic Techno, and Hypnotic, Leftfield Electronica. Drawing influence from the soulful, rhythmic precision of Caiiro and the cinematic textures of Maceo Plex, among others, Goltairis crafts immersive, precise soundscapes built on visceral grooves, designed to envelop the listener and lead them through an evolving musical narrative. A rising force in the Malmö scene, he is a selector who effortlessly bridges the gap between classical tradition and the untamed energy of the dancefloor.
RUS is hosting an event at Atemlos this Saturday.
You need to purchase a ticket to get in.
All proceeds from ticket sales go toward supporting the critically important organization RUS (@redumbrellasweden ), which works to promote sex workers’ rights, safety, justice, and self-determination.”

TISDAGSKLUBBEN: Evenings and Weekends by Oisín McKenna
19.05.2026 / 18.30
Claesgatan 8
About the book:
Summer in London stops for no-one. Not the half-naked boozers, stoners, and cruisers, the hen parties glugging from bejewelled bottles, the drag queens puffing on hurried fags. It’s June 2019, and everyone has converged on the city’s parks, beer gardens and street corners to revel in the collective joys of being alive. Everyone but Maggie. She’s 30, pregnant and broke. Faced with moving back to the town she fought to escape, she’s wondering if having a baby with boyfriend Ed will be the last spontaneous act of her life. Ed, meanwhile, is trying to run from his past with Maggie’s best friend Phil and harbouring secret dreams of his own. Phil hates his office job and is living for the weekend, while falling for his housemate, Keith. But there’s a problem: Keith has a boyfriend and there might not be room for three people in the relationship. Then there’s Rosaleen, Phil’s mother, who’s tired of feeling like a side character in her own life. She’s just been diagnosed with cancer and is travelling to London to tell Phil, if she can ever get hold of him. As Saturday night approaches, all their lives are set to change forever. It’s the hottest summer on record and the weekend is about to begin…
About Tisdagsklubben:
One Tuesday a month PAGE 28 is inviting you to Malmö’s queer book club, without pretension and pressure! It’s called Tisdagsklubben which means the Tuesday Club. On this evening, our bookstore will be transformed into a literary saloon where everyone who’s interested is welcome to come and discuss a chosen queer book. The discussion will be led by Emelie, Ida and Patrycja from PAGE 28, and our ambition is to create an open minded and allowing atmosphere.
