Thank you to everyone who made it happen. 🧡
It’s with pride that I present, QC Stories: The City We Call Home. Wherever you’re from, QC serves as a placeholder for all the cities we grew up in—places we thought were too familiar until time and distance made them mythic in our memory.
This is a book where we found ourselves making sense of our roots, where we learned to quiet our algorithmic impulses so we can sharpen our senses and examine closely what’s right in front of us.
We were guided by the practice of not only remembering but remembering well. It’s a mood piece: an anthology of impressions and expressions from essays and poems to art and photography.
The opportunity was to transform a typical municipal coffee-table book into a cultural artifact—one that operates with the visual restraint and editorial integrity of an independent art publication.
It demonstrates that public-sector publications can achieve competitive design standards while remaining deeply local. It is timely as cities increasingly recognize the role of design in shaping civic identity and cultural memory.
Thank you to everyone who took part in this project. We’re deeply honored to share your story. 🧡
