🏅 Head of Sport Engagement - Part 2 - Glasgow Kayak Club 🏅
Mark also visited Glasgow Kayak Club and observed the inaugural Lightning Games. He found the day incredibly motivating and noted the dedicated volunteers who worked to make the day a success. He would also like to thank the incredible bakers who made some delicious cupcakes to mark the occasion.

Mark was in Edinburgh observing youth progression programmes in connection with Edinburgh Schools Kayak Club. He was inspired by the hard-working coaches who pulled together to help the young paddlers realise their potential.

Our team has had another productive week!
1️⃣ Looking over the Grandtully Rapids (taken by Mabel and Charlotte when preparing Big Paddle Clean-up kits)

Mark has continued visiting clubs and groups associated with Paddle Scotland and has been working closely with the Performance and Development Teams.
Adam’s focus this week has been on club expressions of interest for applications to the sportscotland Club Support Programme and looking at the next step of developing business plans for applications. He also met with Paddle UK to clarify Standards for Deployment.
The Operations Team have been working on event planning, collecting data for the upcoming audit and preparing the kits for those who have signed up for the Big Paddle Clean-Up.
The Marketing, Communications, and Commercial Committee, a board sub-committee which includes new Board directors Ailey and Laura, held its inaugural meeting this afternoon. The focus was on beginning a review of our long-term communication strategy and exploring how our communications can better foster connections with the community.

The 2026 International Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe racing season is underway! 💪
This weekend marks the opening Paracanoe World Cup of the year with the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup in Brandenburg, Germany, which will see Hope Gordon compete.
In the Sprint squad, Deborah Kerr returns after reaching the K1 200m A final in Szeged, Hungary, last weekend, the opening Sprint World Cup of the season. The Olympian also helped the women's K4 500m crew to victory in the B final alongside Emily Lewis, Zoe Clark and Kristina Armstrong.
Racing in Brandenburg began yesterday and continues through Sunday 17 May.
