The only non-sport complete set that I own is one of my all-time favorites. Based around one the greatest martial arts movies of all time - Bruce Leeās Enter the Dragon (1974). This 48-card set captures the film extremely well, including a card with a young Jackie Chan. This extremely condition sensitive and highly collectible set marries the popularity of MMA and Japanese collectibles.
Then we have my all time favorite Insert-that-should-have-been-a-base-parallel⦠the legendary TacoFractor. If you were holding the lucky Taco during the 2023 World Series, you could have landed Tacos for Life. This is my favorite trading card marketing campaign that Iāve ever been a part of. And Iām still assembling, what I consider to be, the top TacoFractors available.
My only Dynasty card, currently. I decided, if I was going to spring for a Dynasty card, it needed to be a great patch. This RPA caught my eye. I love Corbinās game. Heās fast, heās got power, and heās become a card guy! Letās go @corbin.carroll
Side note - for the longest time baseball āRPAsā werenāt really being talked about. Now, theyāre finally starting to get some love. As Fanatics/Topps start producing RPAs for NBA and NFL, I believe the RPA love will spread to baseball.
Iāve been in the middle of a massive consolidation, which is always a tricky task. Figuring out which cards youāre willing to move, and which cards you canāt let go of. Iāve always loved tough inserts, and the 2024 Topps Chrome MLB Illustrations checked most of the boxes for me. Great artwork, very low pop report⦠Thereās also only ten cards on the checklist. Set run? š¤
Iāve found myself chasing Fanatics-era inserts. Ultra Violets are some of my favorites, and theyāve only gotten cooler over time. I decided I needed to start with the first year, 2023.
