PIDSOGIESC+ Collective Regional Wellbeing Survey Pacific Sexual and Gender Diversity Network Acting CEO Loata Tucika says the findings from the PIDSOGIESC+ Collective Regional Wellbeing Survey provide essential baseline evidence to inform advocacy and action across the Pacific. “This online survey, conducted across 14 PSGDN member countries with 33 PIDSOGIESC+ respondents, captures critical baseline data on wellbeing, safety, and experiences of discrimination across our region,” Ms Tucika said. “The data is significant because it is grounded in lived experience. While many participants reported generally positive wellbeing, the survey also clearly shows how widespread discrimination continues to shape daily life, safety and mental wellbeing. “This evidence strengthens our ability to advocate for inclusive policies, targeted programming and culturally grounded responses that reflect the realities of PIDSOGIESC+ communities across the Pacific.” The Webs of Safety and Care Baseline Survey serves as the programme’s foundational exercise, offering early insight into how PIDSOGIESC+ individuals experience wellbeing, safety, access to care, discrimination and collective care practices across selected Pacific contexts. The survey was conducted online from 23 October 2025 to 28 January 2026, with responses collected through a self-administered tool shared via regional networks. While the data is not intended to represent entire national populations, it provides deep and meaningful insights into the realities of those who chose to share their voices — helping guide programme direction, advocacy priorities and future interventions.

Strengthening Partnerships for Disability Inclusion We were thrilled to meet with Isoa Nabainivalu from the Disability Pride Hub (DPH), one of our National Member Organisations in Fiji. As DPH’s fiscal partner for funding from the Disability Rights Fund (DRF), we are proud to support their incredible work. Together, we are strengthening the inclusion of members across the Pacific who are persons with disabilities, particularly those from diverse SOGIESC communities. A heartfelt thank you to Disability Pride Hub for the trust and partnership — we look forward to continuing this important work and creating lasting impact together. #DisabilityInclusion #PacificCommunity #SOGIESC #Partnership #DisabilityRights InclusiveDevelopment

Raising Pacific PIDSOGIESC+ voices In the months ahead, PSGDN will share key findings from its new research report, The Lived Experiences of PIDSOGIESC+ Communities — developed with the University of Sydney and the University of the South Pacific. This Pacific-wide research amplifies the voices of PIDSOGIESC+ people who too often go unheard. Speaking up can come at a personal cost, and the stories shared reflect courage, vulnerability, and resilience. The findings are clear: PIDSOGIESC+ communities across the Pacific continue to face stigma, discrimination, violence, and exclusion. Yet they also demonstrate extraordinary strength, leadership, and determination. PIDSOGIESC+ people are not just surviving — they are shaping safer, more inclusive futures for their communities and the Pacific region as a whole.

"Our challenges are getting the members because the older generation doesn't see it as beneficial for them. Another challenge is getting younger members to stay in school. They face bullying and discrimination so they drop out...We come to the conference to exchange ideas, engage with partners, and seek support from PSGDN and donors to get the right information and projects going for our community," Semi Malachi is President of the Akanda Alliance in Tuvalu established in 2019. #phrc2024 #phrcsogiesc2024 @phrcsogiesc

"Discrimination and bias prejudice never goes away, as well as support for rainbow disability particularly for trans women. A number of things are still lacking in service provision, and to look at the grounds of discrimination based on sex because currently it's not clearly defined in the New Zealand Human Rights Act of 1993," Phylesha Brown-Acton spoke of the challenges that are faced by the gender diverse community in New Zealand. She is a LGBTQ+ rights activist and Executive Director of F’ine Pasifika, an LGBTQI+ organization based in New Zealand, which she co-founded in 2015. #phrc2024 @phrcsogiesc
