I recently acquired two instruments, GENE GX @genesynths and Whirld @mengqimusic since they seem to pair well together, I tried playing them in combination.
These instruments were designed/built by Sam Dust, Meng Qi, who are excellent musicians themselves, and I think they possess wonderful individuality.
Whirld, which isn't released yet, feels like a combination of reverse and pitch shift, but depending on how you mix the effect sounds, it can also sound like tremolo. The freeze and reverse playback-like functions activated by a long press on the footswitch are also very Interesting.
These are demo videos showing how it works when used with 208.
Using 4 random CV outputs on 208 allows you to fully drive all 16 Gate/Trigger outputs of KPG.
In this video, KPG is controlled using 4 random CV outputs, triggering LPGs directly with Gate/Trigger.
Additionally, GATE outputs are used to CV-control the Reverb.
I originally intended to pair this with 218, but unfortunately I don't own one, so I'm using TSNM as sequencer.
This might be a good option for those who still have space in the lower left corner of their Easel Modern.

Each output can be set to either gate or pulse mode. The upper row is used in gate mode and the lower row in pulse mode.

Very useful for polyrhythmic beat creation.
Pseudo-SYNC is also possible via the SYNC input.
The newly added a trimmer on the back allows you to adjust the threshold voltage for CV inputs.
