We are proud to officially announce that our collaboration with Dapper Music Entertainment during #DettyDecember has now been recognized by the Guinness World Records. In December 2025, Dapper Music Entertainment signed a partnership with P4Ensemble to provide full orchestral scoring, arrangement, and performance for an unprecedented 80-man Afrobeats and Fuji orchestra at the historic Trench Symphony Concert held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace, Victoria Island, Lagos. This groundbreaking production featuring over 85 musicians on stage, brought together some of the finest instrumentalists in the country to reimagine contemporary Afrobeats with the power and depth of a live symphonic orchestra. The result was a moment that not only celebrated African music but also demonstrated the growing global relevance of orchestral collaboration within the Afrobeats movement. Today, we celebrate this milestone as a collective victory for every musician, arranger, and creative mind who contributed to making this historic performance possible. Each member of the orchestra played a role in shaping a sound that pushed the boundaries of what live African music performance can achieve. Over the coming days, we will be publishing the full names of all 85 members of the orchestra who stood at the heart of this achievement. Be sure to turn on post notifications so you don’t miss the announcement. Our deepest appreciation goes to @ dapperdamm , @teeymixofficial , and the entire team at Dapper Music Entertainment for their vision, trust, and commitment to building something truly monumental for the culture. This moment belongs to the musicians. This moment belongs to the culture. And this is only the beginning.

P4’s rendition of City Boy by Burnaboy indicates that Afrobeats isn’t just consumable, it is expandable. It can be analyzed, arranged, and performed within the same frameworks as classical repertoire. This reinterpretation creates a bridge by expanding the audience perception. As you listen, you are not just entertained, you are re-educated Artist: @burnaboygram Song Title: City Boy #strings #p4ensemble #cityboys #violin #viola #cello #doublebass #piano #cover #content #events Arr. @benajah__voicing_ 📹: @pandaimpressio

Last weekend, I saw my story in print. A feature about my journey as a violinist, leading P4 Ensemble, and pushing Afrobeat into orchestral spaces, something that started as a vision is now being recognized beyond borders. From Nigeria to Europe, from small stages to leading an 85-man Afrobeat orchestra, and celebrating milestones with Dapper. Grateful for the journey, the growth, and everyone who has been part of it. This is our WIN and only the beginning!🎻 #Isonil #musician #artist #rheinpfalz #ludwigshafen

Johnny Drille’s early musical orientation toward country and folk music distinguishes him from the dominant Afrobeats lineage. These genres prioritize: - Narrative clarity - Minimal harmonic clutter - Emotional honesty - Structural discipline From an ensemble perspective, this origin profile is critical. Artists shaped by folk traditions tend to value form over flash and meaning over momentum. These traits correlate strongly with longevity and cross-cultural adaptability. His transition into Afro-soul and Afrobeats did not erase this foundation. Instead, it embedded it within African rhythmic and melodic contexts—producing a hybrid sound that is locally grounded yet globally legible. #johnnydrille #AfroHarmonyDeconstructed #P4 #Music #AfricanClassicalMusic

Our acoustic moment with Johnny Drille is a small glimpse into something bigger happening in Nigerian music. A quiet shift, where orchestral language is no longer an accessory but part of the songwriting itself. And the story didn’t start today. Tomorrow we unpack the lineage. From pioneers who experimented in scarcity… to artists now building entire careers around it. Stay tuned.

Some moments age well. Others age into prophecy. What we did with Joeboy feels even more relevant now. Afrobeats is evolving. Live instrumentation is no longer optional, it’s inevitable. We are not experimenting. We are engineering the future of performance. Stay tuned. #p4Ensemble #LiveRepertoire #AfrobeatsEvolution #joeboy

We had the honour of opening the evening at the Gala Night hosted by Flutterwave** at The Delborough Lagos. Our performance set the tone as founders, policymakers, and industry leaders arrived, welcomed by a live musical atmosphere that reflected the ambition, innovation, and global outlook shaping Africa’s financial future. @theflutterwave 📌 @thedelborough 📷 bellanaija | MojidelanoTV #flutterwavegala #f|wxdelborough #flutterwavedelborough

On December 16, 2025, something rare happened in Lagos. As part of Trench Symphony, organized by Dapper Music Entertainment, over 80 orchestral musicians came together to reimagine street-rooted Afrobeats and Yoruba Fuji through live orchestral architecture, marking the largest Afrobeats orchestra concert ever assembled. This milestone signals a wider shift in how African popular music is performed, preserved, and presented at scale. This was not about genre crossover or spectacle. It was about scale, translation, and cultural continuity. For P4ENSEMBLE, this moment is not a peak but, a foundation. A step toward a future where African music expands without erasure. #TrenchSymphony #p4ENSEMBLE #AfrobeatsOrchestra #CulturalInfrastructure #AfroClassical LagosMusic

Music flows like a river, ever fluid and subtly changing, In the coming days, we’ll share stories of how we live music as the eternal continuity of life itself during Detty December’s endless nights. An encounter in the throbbing heart of Lagos, where an individual note, with all its inflections and colors, equates with the idea of personal salvation, of resignation, acceptance, and collective memory. #AfroHarmonyDeconstructed #AfricanClassicalMusic #p4Ensemble #DettyDecember #TrenchSymphony

In every great ensemble, there is an instrument that rarely leads, but without it, nothing truly connects. The viola has historically occupied this role: bridging melody and bass, rhythm and harmony, tension and release. In contemporary African music and Afrobeat arrangements, this “middle voice” continues to shape how emotion is perceived, even when the viola itself is replaced by synths, horns, or guitars operating in the same register. This carousel unpacks the instrument’s story: • why the viola functions as a structural and emotional bridge • how its timbre mirrors African vocal traditions • and why its role is central to Afro-Classical and Afrobeat fusion For violists, arrangers, composers, and musicians who understand that mastery often lives in what connects rather than what dominates, share this post with someone if you find it valuable #TheInstrumentStory #AfroHarmonyDeconstructed #P4 #Music #AfricanClassicalMusic #Brymo #viola

Music may happen to be expressive, communicative, moving and inspired, but it is rarely accidental, even when it recalls the everlasting sounds of the sea or the spontaneity of birdsong. #p4Ensemble #p4orchestra #Rehearsal #Music #Strings #MusicRehearsal

Afrobeats is not evolving by abandoning its roots, it’s evolving by expanding its vocabulary. Bella Shmurda represents a generation of African artists whose authenticity travels globally without dilution. His Global Spin performance of Verily, enriched by classical string architecture, demonstrates something critical for the music industry: He isn’t just making songs, he’s carrying memory. From Okokomaiko to global stages, his voice moves like a prayer, raw, unfiltered and spiritual. When classical strings meet street truth, something deeper happens: not fusion for aesthetics, but alignment of soul and sound. If you listened closely to Verily, you already felt it. Our analysis in this post just gives language to the feeling. Do you agree? let us know in the comments, and share this with someone you think needs to read it. Happy 2026 to you all ❤️ This will be our best year yet!
