All testing and pre running finished. The truck is running the best it ever has. Notes and GPS finalized for race days on June 11th and 12th. Thank you to all who support us and allow us to live this way.
Now straight to Sonora Mexico for the next event.
BAJA 400 pre running been smooth so far. Got all our homework done. Just have the start and finish to do. They open access to these 33 miles tomorrow. Then it's game on! Watch out for these Aussie boys. They are shot for that top spot! @paulweel , @tobyprice87 , and @dalemoscatt
Back in service from the outback. Finke 2022 wins this time. Nothing but motor issues this race. Race to Finke we lost the drive by wire electrical motor. Loaded truck on trailer and took it to Finke. We replace DBW motor. Inspected and service rest of normal wear. Truck was 100% ready to race back. Heated up truck with heater early Monday morning. Started truck and crew noticed a lounder then normal valve train noise. That was not there when we serviced it the night before. With limited time team decided to load on trailer and not race. Was able to look into it more yesterday. Pulled valve cover and found #1 exhaust push rod snapped in half. The Pwr guys will get this all sorted out and come back swinging again next year.
Finke Prologue is over. @paulweel will start 20th out of 149 entries tomorrow. Trucks all back to race trim and set for the start. We race to Finke in the morning. Then turn around and race back Monday morning to Alice Springs.
Today ride to work. This place has been amazing so far. Only 2nd day in. Touring the pwrperformanceproducts factory. Then back out to the farm tonight.
Tomorrow will start the journey to the red center. The Weel family hospitality and greeting have been the up most. If I don't come back don't come looking!
