Join me and my therapist of over 10yrs, Kelly Zaragoza, owner of @via_phx for a special artist talk and moderated conversation about my latest body of work, "Welcome to the Circus" next Friday the 22nd from 6-830P at @moodroomphx *the gallery will close to the public at 6p on Friday the 22nd for the talk* Kelly has been instrumental in helping me navigate so much of my art practice including how to understand and express my emotions in my art. So, I only thought it was right we come together to share more with you all and dig deeper into such an impactful and dense series of paintings. The conversation will be moderated by my dear friend, poet and scholar Patrick De Leon- @owlsviewpoint There will be an open bar and light refreshments as well as an opportunity to see the collection and join in on the discussion during a Q&A. Tickets are only $10 and are available (and VERY limited) via the link in my bio. You can also find more info there.

thems. Writing Lab! • Thursday April 23rd from 7-9 pm at @themckinleyclub 🌟 • Writing Into Vulgarity — Poetry, Desire, and Excess 👄 • A dynamic monthly writing workshop designed to celebrate and nurture queer voices. Whether you’re an experienced writer or just starting out, this workshop provides a supportive and inspiring environment for all participants. 🌟 • This workshop explores what it means to write into vulgarity not as shock for its own sake, but as a way of reaching language that feels charged, excessive, and alive. We’ll treat vulgarity as a creative entry point where desire, voice, and tension push past what feels acceptable or controlled. Instead of cleaning up the poem, we’ll lean into what feels messy, risky, or too much, and use that pressure to generate something sharper and more honest. 💫 • Together, we’ll experiment with fast, intuitive writing that draws on conversation, memory, and fragments of speech. We’ll work with taboo or “improper” language, direct address, and collage to build poems that hold multiple voices and energies at once. Along the way, we’ll look at how a poem can pull a reader in while also unsettling them, creating that charged, hard-to-look-away-from feeling. By the end, you’ll leave with new drafts and a clearer sense of how writing into excess can open up your work and make it feel more alive, immediate, and impossible to ignore. 😙 • Hosted this month by thems. 2026 Artist in Residence Patrick De Leon @owlsviewpoint 💋

We’re excited to announce a brand new project based residency in Phoenix, AZ. 🌟 • The thems. residency supports artistic growth while fostering meaningful exchange with the LGBTQIA+ communities in Phoenix and beyond. We aim to support creative experimentation and community collaboration across Arizona. 🌈🌟 • Our first Artist-in-Residence cohort will serve as an important pilot program and trial phase created to help the thems. phoenix team thoughtfully shape and refine the residency experience. Through guidance, feedback, and intentional trial-and-error, our inaugural residents will collaborate closely with thems. staff to build a responsible, and worthwhile experience for future artists. 💕 • Our goal is to continue developing the program into an enduring space for artists to deepen their art practice while engaging and supporting the local queer community through community-driven programming across Phoenix, AZ and alongside partner organizations. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
