BOYS ARE LISTENING. ARE WE TALKING? 😟📖
Our most important post this year so far (so please share) - we’ve just watched #Adolescence on #Netflix and the stark reality of the ‘manosphere’ hit hard.
Our sons are navigating a digital minefield of toxic masculinity that's reshaping childhood faster than we can imagine. The key takeaway? OPEN CONVERSATION IS KEY.
Books aren't just stories - they can:
• Open dialogues about emotions
• Challenge harmful masculinity myths
• Create safe spaces to be vulnerable
• Help boys understand their worth beyond outdated ‘masculine ‘rules.
The right book can be the bridge between silence and understanding, so we've put together a bundle of five important picture books (5 books for £15 on our website - link in bio) that form an invaluable toolkit for parents of young boys, who want to create positive change for their sons' (grandsons' or nephews') futures.
LINK IN BIO - Here's some more info on the books:
What Wesley Wore 👕- Building sensitivity and empathy for those who are different to us.
Wild 🐺 - Standing up for what's right in the face of peer pressure.
Rory's Room of Rectangles 👨👨👦- Learning from emotionally-open male role models (Dad and Step-Dad)
Enzo, The Swallows and Me 🐦- Showing that is ok to be emotional in strong male friendships.
Storm in a Jar 🖤- Realising we can't bottle up emotions and finding ways to gently manage anger after a loss.
We can't control every digital interaction, but we can be the steady voice that reminds our boys: Your humanity matters more than any toxic narrative.

📚 Start conversations early, listen more than you speak, and never stop showing up. ❤️ #adolescencenetflix
💧If your kids loved Little Glow as much as mine did, you’re going to want to stop scrolling immediately! AD 🕯️
Books that teach empathy, community and the beauty of the world around us are always the ones we reach for first. For a long time, that go-to book for us was Little Glow by @katiekatewrites and @harrywoodgateart
It has been an absolute essential, celebrating light and togetherness in the most beautiful way.
So you can imagine how excited we were when we found out there’s a brand new companion book, Little Flow!
This time, Katie teams up with @christinecuddihy to bring us the most charming water story.
It is every bit as gentle, bright and meaningful as the first. The illustrations are an absolute dream and it’s the perfect reminder of how interconnected we all are and the power of water.
If Little Glow warmed your heart, Little Flow will absolutely make it wash over with joy! 💙
The hardback is out now, but the paperback version is publishing later this month (May 28th)

A text message that nearly floored our founder @samlangleyswain who gifted Storm in a Jar to a grieving family he was supporting. A very timely message in #mentalhealthawareness week that shows the transformative power of picture books.
In a world of rising costs, increasing competition and tougher markets, it's moments like this that show how important our stories are, and why we need to push on. ❤️

This new picture book is a rhyming celebration of everything ‘water’: the water cycle, its variety of uses, treatment processes and why it’s too important to waste, all told through the eyes of an empathetic and curious raindrop, Little Flow.
“I’m a drop in the ocean, so tiny to see. But big oceans are made up of small drops like me!” 🌊

Katie Sahota doesn't just write picture books — she builds worlds with intention. 🌊 With a background in public health and 20 years working for the wellbeing of children and young people, every story she tells has something real beating at its heart. Little Flow is a rhyming celebration of water on the outside, but on the inside it's about curiosity, empathy, and the idea that no drop — however small — is without purpose. That's the kind of storytelling that stays with a child long after the last page.

In a world that can feel increasingly divided, Little Flow carries a message children — and honestly, all of us — need to hear right now. 💧 That what we do individually matters. That no one is too small to make a difference. That big change is built from countless small actions, each one choosing to move in the same direction. Katie Sahota wrote this book for children, but the idea that "big oceans are made up of small drops like me" has never felt more quietly radical — or more necessary. At a time when collective action is being questioned, undermined and dismissed in so many corners of the world, here is a picture book that reminds the next generation — gently, joyfully, through the eyes of a little raindrop — that together, we are powerful.
