The first indoor @lacrescentfarmers market is this Tuesday, November 18, from 4-7 at the La Crescent Area Event Center! We’re still harvesting lots of fresh greens from our unheated tunnels and will have plenty of freshly-dug, frost-sweetened carrots so you can stock up for thanksgiving and the soup season beyond. We’ll also bring some of our heirloom dried beans, candied baby ginger for your holiday baking, and more! Heads up - We may have to dip out a little early if I need to get the little helper down for bed, so come early of you can! Hope to see you there. 🍁🦃🥕🥕🥬
These beauties deserved a spot on the grid. We majorly geeked out over the colors on these radicchio today. Though most were smaller than we hoped, we’re still calling it a success that we were able to keep them growing in the field until mid-November in MN. 🌈
🌧️ Don’t let a little drizzle stop you — it’s the final outdoor @lacrescentfarmers market of the season!
We’re loaded up with freshly harvested produce— perfect for stocking your fridge (our greens last a long time!).
🍅 Thanks to the warm weather, we still have summer favorites like tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant, plus all the fall goodies:
🥬 Spinach, radishes, salad greens (lettuce mix, arugula, baby kale, fall mix, and baby chard/beet green mix), bok choy, mini broccoli bunches, fennel, herbs, and baby ginger 🌿
✨ While you’re there, make sure to sign up for our email list to stay in the loop about winter markets, home delivery, and on-farm pickup options!
📍See you today, 4–dusk — come celebrate the season with us!
🌪️ Tornado Update 🌪️
A tornado hit our farm Wednesday evening and caused serious damage. We’re so grateful we’re all safe—but we lost the roof of our pole shed, two growing tunnels (housing peppers, melons & cukes), and had damage to our tomato/eggplant tunnel. Trees also came down on our deer fence.
Some silver linings:
• The frame of our main high tunnel held strong (shoutout to Four Season Tools).
• Our newly completed Deep Winter Greenhouse—built with @umnextension —survived with just some bent trim.
• MiEnergy worked through the night in the tangled woods behind us to restore power. We’re incredibly grateful.
🧡 Within hours, neighbors were at our door—with hugs, chainsaws, tractors, water, and a generator.
If you’re thinking of helping, we’re tackling debris removal today and trying to salvage crops & repair the deer fence. Cooler weather is giving us a window to make progress.
Huge thanks to everyone who’s reached out, brought food, helped clean up, or just checked in.
Amazingly, a lot of our field crops held up—and we’re moving forward. Orders even went out yesterday thanks to our powerhouse crew: Ari, Erin, Heather & Madison 💪
We’re tired, but hopeful—and so thankful.
It’s looking like a perfect afternoon for the La Crescent Farmers Market—especially after getting rained out last week! ☀️ We missed seeing you and hope you’ll make it out today!
We’ll be here from 4–7 with LOTS of fresh picked veggies for you.
